According to CDC data, about two-thirds of new cases in 2018 resulted from male-to-male sexual contact with an infected person.About seven percent of new HIV infections in 2018 were the result of people injecting drugs using infected needles or equipment.The World Health Organization said they hope some of the lessons from the coronavirus pandemic can be applied to the HIV/AIDS epidemic to help “accelerate progress towards our new 2025 targets and … ending AIDS as a public health threat by 2030.” 2467

DETROIT — Kia is recalling nearly 295,000 vehicles in the U.S. because the engines can stall or catch fire. The recall comes a week after Kia and affiliated Korean automaker Hyundai were fined by the U.S. government for allegedly delaying recalls. The recall covers certain 2012 and 2013 Sorento SUVs, 2012 through 2015 Forte and Forte Koup cars, and 2011 through 2013 Optima Hybrid cars. Also included are 2014 and 2015 Soul SUVs and 2012 Sportage SUVs. Kia says in documents posted Saturday by the U.S. government that no manufacturing defect has been found, but it’s recalling the vehicles to mitigate any risk of fire. Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Kamala Harris said Thursday that she would suspend in-person campaigning until Oct. 19 after she encountered two people who have contracted COVID-19.According to a statement from Biden campaign manager Jen O'Malley Dillon, a "non-staff flight crew member" and Harris' communications director, Liz Allen, both tested positive for the virus on Wednesday.The Biden campaign said that during its contact tracing, a member of the company that charters Joe Biden's airplane tested positive for the coronavirus. The Biden campaign said that the crew member was at least 50 feet away from Biden at all times, and Biden wears an N95 mask during flights. The Biden campaign does not plan on altering his schedule.According to the campaign, Harris was "not in close contact, as defined by the CDC," with either person. While she does not need to quarantine by CDC guidelines, the campaign has canceled her travel through Sunday "out of an abundance of caution."The campaign added that those who tested positive have not had any contact with Biden campaign staffers since thier diagnosis.Harris took PCR COVID-19 tests on Oct. 8 and Oct. 14, both of which have come back negative.Harris was scheduled to campaign in North Carolina on Thursday. 1276

DALLAS (AP) — Ten states have brought a lawsuit against Google, accusing the search giant of “anti-competitive conduct” in the online advertising industry including a deal to manipulate sales with rival Facebook. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton says Google is using its “monopolistic power” to control the pricing on online advertisements, fixing the market in its favor and eliminating its competition. Google is calling the suit “meritless” and says the price of online advertising has fallen over the last decade. According to records released by Paxton's office, Texas is suing along with Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota and Utah. 698
