DEL MAR (KGTV): The Del Mar Racetrack will open it's fall season Friday afternoon, it's the fifth year of the Bing Crosby Racing Season."You got 16 days to basically, do everything," says CEO Joe Harper.The shorter season features smaller crowds and smaller fields, but trainer Peter Miller says that's part of its charm."It's easy to get a drink. It's easy to get a bet down. It's easy to watch the races. It's better," he says. "And it's better to train the horses on this kind of a laid back, easy going situation."Miller's horses won 31 races at Del Mar over the summer. He hopes to have similar success over the next month.Around the track, Harper says betters can have success by getting more access to horses and betting lines."It's a short meet. It's full of good horses and good racing. It's a local's meet, which I love, a little less hectic than the summer," says Harper.The track has 16 days of racing planned, and every day has some kind of theme, festival or concert. DETROIT, Mich. - The number of passengers flying daily in the United State is growing but we’re only seeing a 40% total traffic when compared to a year ago.So airlines are still forced to operate on reduced schedules, some telling us it has created a flight booking headache.With travel down by about 70%, it's been a rough go for the airline industry, but passengers tell me there have been some upsides."Rescheduling the flight was a piece of cake," said one traveler."There's like no one in the middle seat, that’s super nice," said another traveler.Middle seats blocked, no change fees, and more lenient cancellations policies have all made flying much more appealing but traveling during the pandemic also mean dealing with a lot of changes."Saying it was frustrating is an understatement, it was utter chaos," said Kellie McDaniel.McDaniel of Monroe was thrilled about her November trip to the US Virgin Islands, that is until a change by the airline made it so that."Our connecting flights would not match up," said McDaniel.Now, the company did offer her a refund because they could not fix the issue."But then we were left with no airline," said McDaniel. DENVER – Shanann Watts’ family has sued Chris Watts to try and keep him from ever profiting off the deaths of their daughter or granddaughters.The lawsuit when Watts was sentenced to life in prison without parole, is a wrongful death claim intended to help the family recoup funeral expenses, the loss of Shanann’s future income and give them compensation for ongoing emotional distress stemming from the killings of Shanann, her daughters Bella and Celeste, and her unborn child.The family’s attorneys say that the family and Shanann’s estate are entitled to economic and non-economic damages under Colorado law, and the lawsuit asks that the family be able to amend the claims in the future. That will likely amount to thousands of dollars in restitution, District Attorney Michael Rourke said last week.One of the family’s attorneys, Steven Lambert, said last week that the point of the suit was to keep Watts from profiting off the case in the future should he write a book or try and get money from the sale of their house.“He cannot profit from any inheritance that he would normally receive from Shanann,” Lambert said. “On top of that, any proceed that he might derive from a sale of a book – he would not be able to keep any of that. Also, any assets that he might receive once we get a judgment from the court, we can file any liens and get things like that on any assets from here into the future.”The lawsuit says that Shanann’s father, Frank Rzucek, is also entitled to similar claims because Watts pleaded guilty to unlawful termination of a pregnancy for killing his and Shanann’s unborn child, whom the family called Nico.Watts pleaded guilty to nine counts in the case and received three consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole, in addition to several more consecutive and concurrent sentences for other counts.He was transferred this week to a Denver facility to undergo mental and medical evaluations before he is sent to prison. 1982

DEERFIELD, Ill. – Walgreens says it’s partnering with a primary care company to open full-service doctor's offices at hundreds of its drugstores.The pharmacy chain announced Wednesday that an expanded partnership with VillageMD will allow them to open 500 to 700 “Village Medical at Walgreens” primary care clinics in more than 30 markets in the next five years. They intend to build hundreds more after that.Most of the clinics will be approximately 3,300 square feet each, with some as large as 9,000 square feet. Walgreens says they will optimize existing space in stores, which will also still provide a range of retail products to customers.Walgreens says the clinics will integrate the pharmacist as a critical member of VillageMD’s multi-disciplinary team to deliver quality health care to patients.
