(KGTV) - The world's oldest message in a bottle was discovered half-buried at a West Australian beach nearly 132 years since it was written.The Western Australian Museum confirmed Tuesday that the message is dated June 12, 1886 — dating back more than 48,000 days. The old gin bottle was jettisoned from the Germain sailing barque "Paula," according to the museum."It just looked like a lovely old bottle so I picked it up thinking it might look good in my bookcase. My son’s girlfriend was the one who discovered the note when she went to tip the sand out," Tonya Illman, the woman who discovered the bottle told the museum. "The note was damp, rolled tightly and wrapped with string. For 69 years, thousands of bottle were tossed overboard German ships studying ocean currents.The notes, which contained dates and coordinates, would instruct whoever finds the bottle to write back when and where they located the note to help researchers build data on currents. (KGTV) — The 18-year-old girl who pushed her friend off a 60-foot bridge into a Washington state river has been charged with one count of reckless endangerment.Prosecutors filed the charge against Taylor Smith, saying the teen engaged in conduct which created a substantial risk of death and resulted in serious physical injury to Jordan Holgerson," according to ABC News.Reckless endangerment is a gross misdemeanor in Washington state and punishable by up to a year in jail and a maximum fine of ,000.Smith pushed Holgerson off the bridge over the Lewis River at Moulton Falls Regional Park near Vancouver, Wash., on Aug. 7.The fall left Holgerson, 16, with six broken ribs, a punctured lung, and air bubbles in her chest, officials said.Footage showing the fall was captured on cell phone video and soon went viral. A 28-year-old doctor in Houston has died of COVID-19, according to a GoFundMe set up by her family.According to an update from her father, Dr. Adeline Fagan died on Sept. 19, more than two months after contracting the virus.Fagan, a native of Syracuse, New York, was in the second year of a residency as an OB/GYN at a Houston hospital, according to KTRK-TV in Houston. She typically only worked in the hospital's delivery room, but on July 8, she took a shift in the ER treating COVID-19 patients.Fagan's family says that morning, "feeling well and excited to see patients" as she headed in to see her patients. But later that day, she started to feel "intense, flu-like symptoms."Within a week, Fagan had been diagnosed with COVID-19 and had been hospitalized. Despite several experimental drug treatments, she was placed on a ventilator on Aug. 3.She remained on the ventilator until Saturday evening when a nurse found her unresponsive. She had suffered a massive brain bleed and was later pronounced dead.According to KHOU-TV in Houston, it was Fagan's lifelong dream to be a doctor."She fought for it," Fagan's sister, Natalie, said. "She fought hard. She studied hard.
