All sorts of medical providers are willing to play a role in vaccine distribution once it becomes widely available.“I think what's going to happen is the vaccination process goes down the pathway, and in the next year, you'll see more and more states get on board with that,” said Dr. Robert Zena, President of the American Association of Dental Boards.Zena says we've already seen several state legislatures approve dentists to give the COVID-19 vaccine and about a dozen more are in the process of doing so.Back in October, the federal government recommended states expand their list of vaccine providers.Dentists may be able to reach even more people than traditional doctors. About 9% of Americans see a dentist every year but not a physician, according to the American Dental Association.“There are a lot of dental offices in more rural areas where it's harder for those people to get access to care. So, the distribution of dentists across the country is really widespread,” said Zena.People may also be more willing to accept a vaccine once they talk with a dentist they trust.On the flip side, a COVID-19 vaccine at a dentist's office could help drum up interest and new dental business.During the H1N1 pandemic, dentists in some states gave the vaccine.Some areas have also authorized dentists to give the flu shot. Aldon Smith, who was the NFC's Defensive Player of the Year, has a warrant out for his arrest on Monday after a possible domestic incident from the weekend, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. Smith is wanted on charges of misdemeanor domestic violence, assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury, false imprisonment and vandalism, the Chronicle reported. Earlier the in the day, the Oakland Raiders released Smith. The incident in question was reportedly Saturday evening, and the victim identified Smith as the suspect. TMZ reported that Smith checked into a rehab facility on Monday. Smith has had frequent encounters with law enforcement. The Chronicle reported that Smith has three previous DUI arrests. He was also arrested in June 2012 when illegal weapons were found at his house during a party where two people were shot, and he was stabbed.  908

Already under scrutiny about a dog dying in an overhead bin and another dog being accidentally sent to Japan, United Airlines on Friday acknowledged its third animal-related mistake in a week.A flight was diverted to Akron, Ohio, on Thursday after the airline realized a pet had been loaded onto the flight in error, airline spokeswoman Maggie Schmerin told CNN.Flight 3996 was carrying 33 passengers from Newark, New Jersey, to St. Louis, but the pet was due to fly from New Jersey to Akron. United told CNN the unidentified animal was "safely delivered to its owner."United said it offered compensation to all passengers as a result of the diversion. The airline declined to provide details about the compensation.There were two earlier animal-related mistakes made by United Airlines this week.Tuesday, a 10-year-old German shepherd named Irgo was flown to Japan when he was supposed to end up in Kansas. In Irgo's place was a Great Dane that was supposed to be en route to Japan.Irgo was reunited with his family Thursday. United issued an apology after the discovery of the switched dogs.Monday, a French bulldog died on a Houston-to-New York flight after a United flight attendant told its owners to put the dog, in its carrier, in an overhead bin. United spokesman Jonathan Guerin said the passenger told the flight attendant there was a dog in the carrier, but the attendant "did not hear or understand her, and did not knowingly place the dog in the overhead bin."The incident drew outrage online and prompted a US senator to demand an explanation from United."As we stated, we take full responsibility and are deeply sorry for this tragic accident. We remain in contact with the family to express our condolences and offer support," Guerin said. (KGTV) — A shopping trip at a Goodwill store turned scary after the appearance of a phone somewhere it shouldn't be.The incident unfolded in late January on a Saturday afternoon at the store on Alpine Blvd. Amy says she was trying on some clothes in the dressing room. She tells us she looked down and saw a phone camera staring up at her. In a written statement, she says, "By the time I noticed, he quickly removed his phone ... As I opened the door, he walked away."By the time she put on her clothes and reported it to employees, he was gone. Detectives released a surveillance image of a man, identifying him as a person of interest.According to Amy, San Diego Sheriff deputies reviewed surveillance video and determined a man appeared to sneak his phone under the stall several times before he was finally noticed.Amy describes it as "a shock to me." She then felt even more “violated." Investigators say they do not know of any similar incidents at this or other local Goodwill stores.Taylor Herwehe is a frequent shopper at the Goodwill in Alpine. She plans to be a little more watchful and that upsets her."I should feel safe in a dressing room. I should have my mind on purchases and not on the perverts out there," said Herwehe.Deputies say the person of interest may be driving a silver or gray Honda.
