COLLIER COUNTY, Florida — Troopers are sharing a video of a wrong way driver on Interstate 75 to highlight the dangers of impaired driving.Florida Highway Patrol's Lt. Greg Bueno shared the video on Twitter Thursday.The video, recorded early Tuesday morning along Alligator Alley, shows a car speed by driving the wrong direction.  The trooper immediately turned around and crossed the median to follow the driver.Shortly after, the trooper sees the wrong way driver making a U-turn, and the trooper crosses the median again to pull the driver over.Lt. CODY, Wyo. – During an interview with Forbes, Kanye West elaborated on his decision to run for president of the United States and made several more head scratching comments.Over the course of four “rambling” hours of interviews, the magazine says the rapper confirmed that he was serious when he tweeted Saturday that he would pursue the White House.West disclosed that he would be running under a new political party, the “Birthday Party.” He reportedly said, “because when we win, it’s everybody’s birthday.” He said his campaign slogan is “YES!” and he’s already chosen his running mate – an obscure Wyoming preacher named Michelle Tidball.In the past, West has voiced his support of President Donald Trump, who has been seeking reelection since he took office in 2017. However, West told Forbes that he no longer supports Trump and that he was “taking the red hat off” with the interview.With West apparently entering the presidential race, many Democrats are concerned he could spoil former Vice President Joe Biden’s prospects of winning. CORONADO, Calif. (KGTV) - Coronado residents heard a plan from the Port of San Diego Monday night that would allow for 350 new hotel rooms to be built on the island.Those who showed up were not happy.“Most of the residents don’t want this development to happen,” said resident Kelly Sarber. “The city can’t really handle what we're dealing with right now,” she added, referring to the island’s notorious traffic.The new proposal is part of an update to the Port’s master plan, which includes 2,403 acres of land across 34 miles of waterfront around San Diego Bay.In Coronado, the new master plan would allow for 350 hotel rooms to be built in the north Coronado subdistrict, which includes the Ferry Landing and the area occupied by the existing Marriot Hotel.“What this plan sets out is potential growth for next 30 years,” said Lesley Nishihira, planning director for the Port.She said currently they have not received a plan from a developer to actually build a hotel on the Ferry Landing property. However, if approved, the updated master plan would allow for one to be built eventually. Though, any project proposal would also have to go through a public review period.The comment period for the Master Plan draft goes through July 31. CLEVELAND, Ohio - Students across the nation are still adapting to their new learning environment as more schools have opted to begin the year with remote learning.But, a study from The Rox Institute revealed that girls in middle and high school are struggling significantly. Nearly 1,300 5th-12th grade girls, who attend 88 different schools, completed the survey.The findings show the pandemic has induced stress, feelings of isolation, and depression.Nearly 40% of girls said they had higher stress levels and 80% said they felt isolated more than they had before COVID-19.Clinical psychologist, Dr. Carolyn Levers-Landis said the findings shouldn't come as a surprise."Many are just wondering, "when will this be over? How much longer do I have? Things keep changing," she said. "You just feel like the rug is getting yanked out from under you over and over again."With girls spending less time with family and friends this summer, the survey said they're turning to social media even more. The results show one-third of respondents are spending six or more hours a day on social media.But, the screen time isn't leaving a positive impact. As many spend the time comparing themselves to others."Girls are struggling even without COVID. In a normal world, they're struggling. And then you isolate them and I think it's really hard for them to navigate their new space," said Robyn Cutler.Cutler is the executive director for Girls on the Run Northeast Ohio, an empowerment group for girls with a fitness component. The organization's website said over the course of the ten-week program, girls in 3rd-8th grades develop essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness.Cutler said it's okay for girls to be sad about missing their friends, but encouraged parents and caregivers to find ways to tap into their creativity."There isn't enough space in this isolation period for girls to feel like people are listening to them and interacting with them. Parents and caregivers can really do a great job by just making space for them to pay attention to their girl, have conversations with them, read with them," she said.Both Cutler and Dr. Levers-Landis said parents of young girls should be on the lookout for changes in behaviors.
