Since Recreations Outlet pre-orders their equipment ahead of the spring and summer season, their inventory of playgrounds and trampolines quickly ran dry. DeLois put customers on a waiting list for up to 14 weeks."I also think some of the money they had maybe was allocated for vacations," says DeLois.Recreation Outlet shares space with a gymnastics facility which had to shut down during the COVID-19 pandemic. DeLois says many parents can spend upwards of 0 a month in gymnastics classes and are likely looking for a physical outlet for their kids."There isn’t anything in our product mix that they’re not looking for. We sell basketball goals, play sets, trampolines, they all are good solutions for getting the kids outside the house and away from inside the house. I’m sure parents are interested in kids getting fresh air but every one of them have been a mad dash," says DeLois.Pete is supposed to get another 40 trampolines in next week and says they'll be gone within two days. Even entry-level playgrounds are sold out. They usually aren't."I've been doing this for 30 years. With a seasonal business it’s always a challenge when you're in that season because you end up doing-- in this industry you do about 70% in a five to six month window but we‘re prepared for it because we’ve done it over and over again. But we weren’t prepared for this," says DeLois.Not prepared, but grateful that his business is doing well and helping families turn their backyards into a fun place to vacation at home this summer. 2141

(AP) — A Kentucky couple who refused to sign a self-isolation order when one tested positive for the coronavirus said they were placed under house arrest.Elizabeth Linscott of Radcliff told news outlets she was tested July 11 for COVID-19 because she wanted to visit her grandparents and received a positive result the next day. Linscott said the health department emailed her a form to sign that said she would check in daily, self isolate and let officials know if she has to be treated at the hospital.The form said the isolation order is to “prevent the introduction, transmission and spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus in this state.”Linscott said she declined to sign because of one sentence: “I will not travel by any public, commercial or health care conveyance such as ambulance, bus, taxi, airplane, train or boat without the prior approval of the Department of Public Health.”“I could not comply to having to call the public health department prior if I had an emergency or I had to go pick something up for my child or myself as a necessity and could not wait,” Linscott said.When she declined to sign the form she said she was told the case would be escalated and on July 16, Linscott said she and her husband were placed under house arrest with ankle monitors.Hardin County Sheriff John Ward said his office was on hand to execute court documents from a Hardin County Circuit Court judge. Protests erupted late Monday on the campus of the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, after police fatally shot a student who allegedly had a knife.The violence took place around the time of a planned vigil for the student, Scout Schultz, 21, who was killed Saturday. Video on social media showed a police car in flames.Georgia Tech police urged students to stay inside and lock their doors because of "violent protests on campus."The fatal encounter on Saturday happened after police responded to a 911 call at 11:17 p.m. reporting a suspicious person on campus. The caller said the person -- described as a white male with long blond hair, white T-shirt and blue jeans, possibly intoxicated -- was holding a knife and possibly a gun.The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said Schultz made that 911 call. 819
