A man in Texas was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery after his fiancée saw a social media post of him robbing a bank the day before their wedding so he could pay for the ring and the venue.Heath Edward Bumpous allegedly approached a bank teller at Citizens State Bank in Groveton, Texas, on Friday and said that he had a gun and demanded money, the Trinity County Sheriff's Office said. A Bay View, Wisconsin, resident was surprised last month when he opened his federal stimulus check and found some numbers were missing. Clark Rendall found that his check that he said should have been ,200 was cut for just .60. "I looked at the check and it says it's for and 60 cents and there wasn't any sort of accompanying documentation or explanation in regard to where that number came from," he said. Rendall said he was contacted by the IRS back in March about a missing tax document, which he quickly sent to them.Since then he has not received his federal income tax refund, and that if the document affected anything it would be his refund, and would be for a few hundred dollars, not the ,200 amount of the stimulus check. He's tried to get answers, but has not heard back. "There's a phone number for the IRS but you call it, and it says if there's no one available to talk to you," he said.The IRS has a cutoff for people who make more than ,000 a year, and take off on stimulus checks for every 0 above that threshold. A library book in Maryland is getting national attention after a little girl’s love for the book turned into its own story.Anita Vassallo, the acting director of Montgomery County Public Libraries in Maryland, loves a good story.This month, she read the children’s book The Postman for the very first time, after getting a copy of it in the mail.The person who sent the book: Mora Gregg, who checked the book out from the library back in 1946, when she was just 2 years old. Mora Gregg and her family moved to Canada before she could return it. While cleaning recently, she found the book she’s had all these years.“Probably when I was dusting the books and came across it and was rummaging a bit because it had slipped behind some other books,” Gregg recalls.After finding the neglected piece of her childhood, Gregg decided to return the book to the library 73 years later.“I’m not getting any younger and I didn’t want it to get thrown away or lost or anything to happen,” Gregg says.Gregg mailed the book back to the library with a note inside, joking how she refused to let it go because she loved it so much.The story provided a surprise ending to Vassallo, who also joked about the book’s return.“We don’t charge fines on children’s books, so no matter how old a kid’s book is when it comes back to us, there’s no charge,” Vassallo says. 1356
