KFC is running out of ... chicken?The fast food chain has been forced to temporarily close hundreds of restaurants in the United Kingdom after a logistics snafu stopped chicken deliveries.About 800 of the company's roughly 900 locations in Britain were closed as of midday on Monday. Some had opened for business by the afternoon, according to the company's website.KFC, which is owned by Taco Bell and Pizza Hut parent Yum!, said the chicken shortage had been caused by a "couple of teething problems" with its new delivery partner, DHL."We won't compromise on quality, so no deliveries has meant some of our restaurants are closed, and others are operating a limited menu, or shortened hours," KFC said in a statement.DHL acknowledged that a number of its deliveries had been "incomplete or delayed" because of "operational issues." The logistics company said it was working with KFC to solve the problem.KFC switched suppliers from Bidvest Logistics to DHL last Wednesday. Job searching amid the COVID-19 pandemic has proved tough for many. Businesses are either halting hiring or laying off employees. Some job-seekers, though, are finding a number of openings that essentially didn't exist before the pandemic."The pandemic's created a paramount shift in how companies are approaching safety for their employees and for their customers and so that’s led to a number of jobs that you didn’t really see much of before," says Patrick Beharelle, the CEO of recruiting company TrueBlue. He says a number of never-before-seen job openings are entering the market, including temperature checkers, disinfecting cleaning services and many more."Reconfiguration specialists. These are folks that are restructuring facilities for more social distancing, so wider aisles, as an example. Decontamination technicians. These are folks that are cleaning masks and PPE for healthcare workers and so these are positions you just didn’t see a lot of before," says Beharelle.Some of the positions, such as temperature checkers, are likely part-time or temporary."And then there's positions like contact tracers. Really, those didn't exist at all before and these are positions where folks work out of their homes and essentially are call center-type employees. They make anywhere from to an hour doing contact tracing," says Beharelle.At-home tech support is an in-demand field right now with openings.“There are virtual event planners, or people who help organizers change events that were supposed to be done in person into online virtual events," says Julia Pollak, with Zip Recruiter. JOHNSON COUNTY, Kan. — Latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows the suicide rate among young people between the ages of 10 and 17 increased 70 percent from 2006 to 2016.“In all my years of community mental health, I’ve never once been afraid to open my email in the morning,” Tim DeWeese said. “Today I’m afraid to open my email to see that someone else has committed suicide or that there’s been another homicide or there’s been another shooting."For more than 20 years, DeWeese has been with Johnson County Mental Health in Kansas, and has seen vast changes from the time he’s started.“It seems like we can’t go a week or a couple days without seeing something, so that’s the hardest part,” DeWeese said.CDC data also showed while black youth killed themselves less than white youth, the increase rate was higher, 77 percent within that decade.In Kansas alone, the suicide rate is higher than the national average, with Johnson County being number one in the state.“More than one Kansan dies everyday from suicide,” DeWeese said.DeWeese said there could be a number of contributing factors.“Lack of availability of mental health resources,” DeWeese said. “Our country, our state, has not necessarily put an emphasis on funding mental health treatment.”He said the stigma surrounding mental health could also be playing a role.“When we see these mass shootings occur or anything bad happen, immediately that person says that person has a mental illness,” DeWeese said.He said this does nothing but further stigmatize a mental illness. “And it really promotes people not to seek treatment,” DeWeese said.John County Mental Health recently started providing free gun locks at the center.“If you can create a barrier such as a gun lock, then — if actually in those two minutes it would take to unlock the gun or to find the key — then a person may rethink that decision,” DeWeese said.He said he encourages anyone who may know someone who is struggling not be afraid to ask them how they’re feeling, if they feel like harming themselves, and to listen.For more on suicide prevention, click here.— 2161

KGTV (SAN DIEGO) - The report investigating whether President Donald Trump or his aides colluded with Russians to interfere with the 2016 election, or obstruct justice, has been handed over to the Department of Justice. So what now?"He didn't call a ball or a strike, he said you know I'm just going to let you guys do this," said former U.S. Attorney Chuck LaBella. LaBella explained Attorney Robert Mueller is leaving it up to the Department of Justice to decide."I actually think it's the right call for him to make because he is not in the Department of Justice, he's a former prosecutor, he knows what the rules are, he knows what the standard is, but this is a Department of Justice policy decision," LaBella said. LaBella worked on a similar investigation, during former President Bill Clinton's administration, regarding campaign finance abuses.When it comes to how much information can be released, LaBella said the public will probably only see 30-40% of the findings. "People calling for the public wholesale release of this need to really check the law, because the law is pretty clear,", he explained, saying grand jury materials, including interviews, are private."It could potentially hurt people who only had tangential involvement in this. They were initially suspected of bad conduct," he said.
