HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. — Several dogs were found dead in a Hernando County, Florida home that neighbors say no one has lived in since Hurricane Irma.Neighbors are furious now knowing they were living next to a home where dogs were suffering inside. "I don’t know how any human could do that," said neighbor Patt Pierce. Pierce said on Tuesday, a construction crew working nearby notified her of a dead dog visible through the window of her neighbor’s home."Our houses are far enough apart where we can’t hear inside the home," said Pierce. Neighbors tell Scripps station WFTS in Tampa that no one has lived in the home since they saw a truck moving furniture out the week before Hurricane Irma. They believe the dogs were abandoned in the home with no food or water."They did not die easy. Imagine being in that home and starving to dead and those animals one by one dropping, she needs to go to jail." said neighbor Chris Kirby, referring to the homeowner. WFTS contacted the homeowner’s attorney who tells us his client, who prefers to go by the name Wendy Lauren Kopp, was letting a man live in the home and he is the one who left the dogs there. The attorney also tells us his client is cooperating with authorities and is not a suspect in the case.The sheriff’s office said the dogs were so decomposed, they haven't been able to accurately count how many are in there. They say their investigation is still ongoing and have not yet announced suspects in the case. Neighbors, however, say they are still heartbroken and wish they could've done more. "For this to happen, all of us are carrying a little guilt like we could’ve done more. We could’ve broke in we could’ve kept calling," said Kirby. "We have a no kill shelter. We have rescue groups. We have someone in the community that would take the dogs," said Pierce.  1902

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (KGTV) -- Los Angeles Police Thursday released body-camera videos that show what happened leading up to the moment police shot and killed a machete-wielding man, KABC reports. The incident happened on November 26, 2019 on a street in Hollywood. The event began to unfold when the suspect, Nathaniel Pinnock, reportedly robbed a store near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Highland Avenue. Pinnock allegedly used a knife in the robbery. The body-cam video shows the 22-year-old stealing a vehicle at a fast-food restaurant before crashing it into several police cruisers. GREENFIELD, Ind. -- An early morning traffic stop on I-70 on Monday ended with a huge drug bust for Indiana State Police. A trooper pulled over a 2017 Ford Expedition for a traffic violation near Greenfield, Indiana around 11 a.m. after he witnessed the driver weaving in and out of the traffic lanes. During the stop, the trooper found more than 78 pounds of marijuana stowed in the back of the SUV. The show recently aired a response to complaints about him.Writers had the character of Lisa Simpson respond to a question from her mother Marge by saying, "Something that started decades ago and was applauded and inoffensive is now politically incorrect. What can you do?" before Lisa glanced at a framed photograph of Apu on her nightstand, which was inscribed with the message "Don't have a cow."The scene generated further complaints from viewers.Azaria voices multiple characters on the show, including Moe Szyslak and Chief Wiggum. He told Colbert he just wanted to be funny."The idea that anybody, young or old, past or present was bullied or teased based on the character of Apu, it just really makes me sad," Azaria said. "It was certainly not my intention. HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. — A Merrol Hyde Magnet High School senior recalled what she saw in the hallway after a chemical flash fire occurred during a science experiment.Sophia Sisler said she was in the hallway working on an art display Wednesday morning when she heard screaming."A student started coming downstairs into the nurse's office. They were crying and shaking, kind of freaking out a little bit and some of them had soot on them. They were really red, they had red spots on their faces and arms and that sort of thing," she recalled.Sisler would soon learn about the chemical accident that caused a Science teacher and 11 other students to be sent to hospitals. Several suffered second degree burns."A couple had open blisters on their legs already. I think they were all just really panicked from what happened," she said.Sisler said the science department has done the science experiment in the past without any problems. After the accident, she said teachers escorted those exposed to the nurse’s office until emergency crews arrived."They were clinging onto the teachers really and they were crying and they were terrified," she said.She wanted people on social media not to blame the teacher for this accident. It's something that has been done in the past. "He looked them all in the eye while he was actively burning and holding his burn spot and saying 'it’s going to be OK, you’re going to be OK' and he got them all out of the room unbelievably fast and he put all of the students before his own life," Sisler said.The senior said she hopes all the students and teacher fully recover. 1655
