With increased expenditures and decreased tax revenues, the debt owed by the US federal government is expected to exceed the GDP of the US in 2021, according to a government analysis.On Wednesday, the Congressional Budget Office released the updated figures showing that the federal government’s debt is projected to be 104% of the size of the economy in fiscal year 2021. 2021 is expected to be the first time since 1946 that the amount of debt is larger than the size of the economy.The CBO’s projection shows that the debt is expected to remain larger than the size of the economy through the upcoming decade.For several decades following World War II, the amount of debt the US owed relative to the size of the economy decreased, bottoming out in 1974 at 23%. The US debt began increasing in the 70s and 80s as balanced budgets became more of an exception. The last time the US had a balanced budget was in 2001. While the US debt burden decreased for most of George W. WISCONSIN — A 19-year-old man has been charged with two felonies after police say he gave a gun to Kyle Rittenhouse the night two protesters were killed in Kenosha.Prosecutors say Dominick Black purchased the weapon from the Ladysmith Ace Home Center using money he received from 17-year-old Rittenhouse. Police say Black bought the weapon for Rittenhouse because he wasn't 18-years-old yet and couldn't do it himself.Black and Rittenhouse agreed that the rifle would be stored at Black's stepdad's house since Rittenhouse did not have an Illinois Firearm Owner Identification card, according to the criminal complaint. Black's stepdad lives in Kenosha.On Aug. 23, Jacob Blake was shot in the back several times by Kenosha police. The following days were then full of protests and unrest in Kenosha.According to the criminal complaint, on Aug. 25, Rittenhouse and Black volunteered to protect the Car Source located on Sheridan Road. The two met at Black's stepdad's house where Black gave Rittenhouse the gun he had purchased, a Smith & Wesson M&P 15 rifle.Around 11:49 p.m. that night, Rittenhouse used the gun to allegedly shoot and kill two individuals, Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber. WINDSOR, Ontario — Caesars Windsor Hotel and Casino is temporarily closed due to a labor dispute with a local union.According to the company's website, the closure is the result of a labor disruption. A message on the site says, "At this time, hotel reservations booked between Friday, April 6 until Thursday, April 12 have been canceled."The Unifor Local 444 Facebook page says there was a tentative deal in place as of April 3 but that fell through.On Thursday night, only 41 percent of union members voted in favor of the new deal, which caused the strike. The 444 handles everything from janitors and food/waitstaff to hotel clerks.The casino says that Friday’s Johnny Reid concert has been postponed. Ticketholders can use their tickets when the show is rescheduled, or get a refund. However, tickets purchased at the Caesars box office will not be refunded until it reopens following the labor dispute. Right now, the casino says all other shows are scheduled until further notice.It's not clear how long the employee strike will last. WINTER PARK, Fla. (AP) — Police say a man punched and kicked a 70-year-old man who'd asked him to practice social distancing inside a central Florida gas station. An arrest report says 24-year-old Rovester Ingram wasn't wearing a mask so the older man asked him to back away on Sept. 8. The man then paid for his items and left the store. Police say Ingram followed him outside and began punching and kicking him. The man went back inside. But Ingram followed him and dragged him back out. Police confirmed the incident through witnesses and surveillance video. They arrested Ingram. 591

When Jeff Hill returned to his neighborhood in Paradise, California, after evacuating during the Camp fire, he came across a wayward horse -- in a backyard swimming pool. The horse appeared to have jumped in to escape the flames, and was caught in the pool cover.He had been checking on a neighbor's house to see if it was still standing when he discovered the horse, Hill wrote in a Facebook post."We scrambled to unhook the pool cover and pulled her to the shallow end where we guided her up the steps." The horse got out, shook off, and "loved on us for a few minutes as a thank you, and walked off," he wrote.Hill called for help, and waited with the horse until resources could escort the horse out from the fire zone.As wildfires raged in different parts of California, residents were forced to evacuate -- some without getting the chance to go home and grab their four-legged friends.Searchers combing through the charred areas have rescued hundreds of animals -- including dogs, cats, horses, donkeys, ducks, and a tortoise.Now, community organizations and good Samaritans are rallying to shelter the displaced animals and reunite them with their owners. 1170
