SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The July Fourth holiday weekend is expected to bring large crowds to San Diego's beaches.Los Angeles beaches will be closed this weekend, and that has some concerned that even more people will flock to San Diego's beaches.Debra Moore lives in Encinitas. She'd like the beaches closed indefinitely."I think they opened way too soon, and we all saw this coming. They told us it was going to come, and I'm sorry so many more people had to get sick," said Moore.She said young people in her neighborhood aren't taking the pandemic seriously."Nobody is wearing a mask, nobody is social distancing. People are walking around my neighborhood all the time, or on the beach, just like it's normal, and nothing is normal anymore," said Moore.Del Mar Councilman Dave Druker also has concerns."People are very worried about lifeguards being overwhelmed and the whole city being overwhelmed with visitors, cause there's nowhere else to go," said councilman Druker.Tuesday, San Diego county supervisor Nathan Fletcher said it's up to officials in coastal communities to decide whether beaches should close this weekend.Fletcher also said all of the coronavirus outbreaks have been linked to indoor settings. Coli during visits to the San Diego County Fair this summer have filed claims against the company that operates the fair.Attorneys representing the families of Jedidiah King Cabezuela, Cristiano Lopez, and Ryan Sadrabadi filed legal documents on Monday."Our investigation has already turned enough information for us to determine that these illnesses were entirely preventable," said Ron Simon, one of the attorneys representing the families.County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency confirmed 11 cases of E. Coli, all of which involve children ranging in age from two to 13. The outbreak was traced to children that visited the animal areas or the petting zoo, or had other animal contact at the fair, county health officials previously reported, and that the illnesses had no link to any food facilities the children accessed.2-year-old Jedidiah King Cabezuela, from National City, suffered stomach problems four days after visiting the fair on June 15 despite washing his hands following a stop at the petting zoo, a family member told 10News. E. Coli can incubate over a period of 10 days.Over the next three days, Jedidiah was in and out of the emergency room before the symptoms worsened. His kidneys began failing, and he died from Shiga-toxin-producing E. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The California Department of Public Health is warning the public after a recall was issued for nearly 50,000 pounds of sausage products due to contamination.According to the department, the products may contain pieces of white, hard plastic. Eddy Packaging Co. Inc. recalled the smoked sausage products due to the contamination.The products were sold at Walmart stores in San Diego, Chula Vista, National City, Oceanside, Poway, Santee and La Mesa.The products being recalled have the establishment number "EST. 4800" inside the USDA mark of inspection. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The California Highway Patrol said a person arrested at gunpoint on Interstate 15 in San Diego Thursday was suspected of driving illegally in the HOV lane and leading an officer on a pursuit.The chase happened on southbound I-15 just south of Aero Dr. at 5:30 p.m.Officers said the driver was in the high-occupancy vehicle lane and failed to pull over, leading to the brief pursuit.There are no reports of any injuries or a reason why the driver did not yield for the traffic stop. 508
