SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are searching for a driver who reportedly hit two people crossing the street in East Village before running away. According to San Diego Police, the incident happened on the 300 block of 14th Street around 12:20 a.m. Sunday. Police say a 24-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man were crossing 14th street in an unmarked crosswalk when the driver of a Ford Mustang attempted to make a U-turn, lost control and hit the pair. The crash left the woman pinned against the wall with a fractured hip and the man with abrasions, according to police. The driver ran away from the scene on foot and has yet to be located, police say. 658

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- People around the world are rallying for Navy EOD Tech Chief Petty Officer Kenton Stacy, critically injured in Syria.Five months and nearly 20 surgeries later, he still has a long recovery ahead.Stacy was in Syria clearing a hospital of IEDs when the explosion happened. At the time doctors gave him a two percent chance of survival.Stacy's brave comrades helped pull him from the rubble and to safety. One of them, Staff Sergeant Justin Peck, was honored by President Trump during his State of the Union address.Stacy is paralyzed from the neck down and blind in his left eye. He suffered extensive damage to his lungs, vocal chords trachea. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Protesters will be out in full force Saturday protesting the Crossroads of the West gun show in Del Mar.The protest is set to begin at 10:30 a.m. on Jimmy Durante Boulevard and Villa De La Valle.In years past, gun control advocates have targeted the show aiming to have the fairgrounds cancel the event.In 2016, a group of gun control advocates lobbied the Del Mar Fairgrounds board to end the shows saying the venue is inappropriate for a gun show."They glamorize the gun culture and help put more guns and more ammunition into the society. We don't believe the public facilities of the fairgrounds should be used for a purpose that is harmful to the public health and welfare," said Wayne Dernetz, of a group called Advocates for Gun Safety.Saturday’s gun show begins at 9 a.m. and will last until 5 p.m. 834

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Raids are expected to begin across the country this weekend targeting undocumented immigrants with deportation orders.According to the New York Times, ICE agents will target some 2,000 who have deportation orders in at least ten cities. The raids will include "collateral" deportations, meaning undocumented immigrants at the scene may also be detained."There is definitely fear," said Benjamin Prado, a member of the 38-year-old group Union Del Barrio. This weekend, the group will be sending out an unspecified number of patrols in various communities. Prado showed 10News a video recorded by the group on Thursday morning. In it, a tip from neighbors in City Heights led them to two vehicles believed to being driven by ICE agents. The group in turn informed people through different means, including social media posts about the presence of the agents.Another group taking action is the Council on American-Islamic Relations. On Thursday morning, national CAIR reissued a community advisory ahead of the impending raids."When you're stressed the first thing you forget is your rights," said Aleena Jun Nawabi, who heads outreach for CAIR San Diego.In the advisory, CAIR officials emphasize rights, including not having to open the front door unless there's a warrant.Those rights are also highlighted in cards and handouts that will be given out by Union Del Barrio. Sources tell 10News that San Diego is not expected to be included among the cities in this first round of raids.An ICE spokesperson issued the following statement: “Every day, as part of routine operations, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Fugitive Operations teams target and arrest criminal aliens and other individuals who are in violation of our nation’s immigration laws for the safety and security of our communities. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Parents say they're disappointed after witnessing what they say was disrespect of the flag and national anthem at a high school basketball game. One parent captured video of the incident at Lincoln High School. They have a student at St. Augustine and say it was the second time they witnessed Lincoln High players sitting down during the anthem. The parent described the players as talking and joking around during it.A grandfather at the game, who is a Vietnam veteran, says he too was offended. He wrote a letter to Lincoln's principal and wants to sit down with him to discuss the issue. The veteran believes the players were disrespectful and says their actions were not in line with the school's mission statement.10News spoke with the school's basketball coach by phone who says he doesn't believe students meant to be disrespectful. He also respects their right to make their own decisions about their actions during the national anthem.  The San Diego Unified School District did not provide 10News comment or a statement on the matter. 1102
