POWAY (CNS) - A pedestrian struck and killed by a vehicle in the 15500 block of state Route 67 in an unincorporated area near Poway on Sunday was identified by the Medical Examiner as 35-year-old Ryan Moon Golden.The incident occurred about 11 p.m. near Cloudy Moon Drive.Witnesses said Golden was walking in the middle lanes of northbound state Route 67 when he was struck by a Buick sedan.RELATED: Person hit by vehicle, killed on SR-67 in Poway areaThe impact launched Golden onto the southbound lanes of the freeway, where he was struck by at least four other vehicles and dragged around 50 yards.The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office said Golden died of blunt-force injuries at the scene of the accident. 726

President Donald Trump designated April 2018 "Second Chance Month" in a presidential proclamation on Friday.The proclamation states that during the month of April, the United States will emphasize the need "to provide opportunities for people with criminal records to earn an honest second chance."A bipartisan group of senators, including Democratic Sen. Rob Portman of Ohio, introduced a resolution last year to make April 2017 "Second Chance Month" to honor efforts to help those with criminal records become productive members of society. (KGTV) -- A rope is being blamed for December’s weeklong boil water advisory in Poway, according to a newly-released report.The report says a surge in storm water caused a backflow in the system. A rope stuck inside a gate designed to keep water out of the reservoir allowed the storm water to seep into the area. As a result of the incident, the affected section of the reservoir had to be disinfected and refilled. RELATED: Inspection found 12 flaws in Poway's water delivery systemA boil water was issued November 30 and canceled December 6 as a result of the contamination. The advisory was issued after residents reported brownish water coming from their faucets on November 29. The report also goes into detail about what is being done as a result of the advisory.
