DENVER – Funeral services for a pregnant Colorado woman and her two daughters, who were killed earlier this month and dumped at an oil and gas site will be held Saturday in Pinehurst, North Carolina.The family of 34-year-old Shanann Watts, her daughters, 4-year-old Bella Marie and 3-year-old Celeste Cathryn, and Shanann’s unborn child, which the family said was going to be called Nico, announced in the Sandhill Sentinel that funeral services would be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Pinehurst.“She was out pride and joy, a true gift from God,” Shanann’s father and mother, Frank Rzucek and Sandra Onorati Rzucek, wrote in her obituary. “We were so blessed to have such a joyful and wonderful daughter whose beauty was that of a doll.”The obituary says Shanann battled Lupus during life and that Celeste’s birth was exciting because of her struggle with the disease. She and her family were originally from North Carolina.The family asks people to donate to the Lupus Foundation of America, the Frederick (Colo.) DENVER – Denver business owners have until the end of the month to make sure they’re complying with changes to the city’s building code in regard to gendered language on restroom signs.The Denver City Council voted in December 2016 to amend the code to state that any single-occupant restroom – a restroom with a single stall or toilet or a stall and urinal that’s intended for use by one person at a time – must have a sign stating that it’s open for use by anyone regardless of gender.Existing businesses have until April 30 to meet that requirement.The change also applies to “family” or assisted-use restrooms.Many of these bathrooms are likely already gender neutral; the change in the building code simply states that they must be labeled as such. The change also requires that the restrooms lock from the inside.The city doesn’t require any specific wording or a particular sign design, but the sign must make it clear that the restroom is gender-neutral.According to the city’s website, businesses that don’t have the proper signs will receive a notice that they have 30 days to comply. (CNS) -- Racing is set to resume at Del Mar Friday after three racing dates were canceled because 15 jockeys tested positive for the coronavirus.The Del Mar Thoroughbred Club responded to the positive tests that wiped out racing from July 17-19 by instituting new travel restrictions to include only permitting jockeys based in California to ride and prohibiting all jockeys who leave the track to ride elsewhere from returning to Del Mar for the remainder of the summer racing season.Del Mar also re-configured and expanded its jockeys' quarters, including moving some of the functions that normally take place in the jockeys' room to an adjacent area.Racing will be held Monday to make up for one of the canceled days.
