(KGTV) - A high demand for power coupled with high temperatures led the California Independent System Operator Corporation (ISO) to issue a statewide Flex Alert Tuesday. A Flex Alert is issued when the electricity grid is “under stress” because of persistent hot temperatures, or generation or transmission outages, according to the ISO.Although San Diego remained relatively cool, with a high temperature in the 70s, other cities in California were put under heat advisories. Sacramento temperatures topped 100 degrees, while San Francisco reached the 90s. RELATED: 10News Pinpoint Weather ForecastCalifornians were asked to conserve power from 4 p.m. through 10 p.m. “Consumers can help avoid power interruptions by turning off all unnecessary lights, using major appliances before 4 p.m. and after 10 p.m., and setting air conditioners to 78 degrees or higher,” ISO officials posted online. San Diego Gas and Electric told 10News it reached out to 160 medium-to-large customers, mainly businesses, and asked them to conserve power between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.The ISO reported energy use would reach a peak of 42,800 megawatts Tuesday evening. (KGTV) — Firefighters in Riverside County are battling yet another fire as Santa Ana conditions sweep through Southern California.The Hill Fire ignited in the Jurupa Valley community just before 10 a.m., quickly growing from 15 acres to hundreds acres within hours, according to CAL Fire. (CNN) -- Two of three children who went missing after floodwater swept up their vehicle in central Arizona have been found dead, the Gila County Sheriff's Office said Saturday.The search continues for the third child, authorities said.The children vanished Friday when a car crossing Tonto Creek, about 60 miles west of the New Mexico border, was caught in flooding around 4 p.m. local time, Gila County Undersheriff Mike Johnson said.Four children and one adult managed to get out of the vehicle and were stranded on an island in the creek, where they were rescued by a helicopter from the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, Johnson said.A woman who was in the water also got out, but three children were unaccounted for, the undersheriff said.The children and two adults were all in the car together when it was overtaken by floodwater, Johnson told CNN. It's unclear how they know each other and how old they are.An Arizona Department of Public Safety helicopter joined the search Friday night, along with local authorities and the fire department, Johnson said.A flood warning was in effect for Gila County until 8:45 p.m. local time on Friday, according to the National Weather Service in Phoenix. 1209
