A Russian woman who needed surgery to address ovarian cysts was given Fedyaeva formalin, a solution that contains formaldehyde, which is used to preserve bodies, Russian state media organization RT reported.Ekaterina Fedyaeva, 28, was told by doctors the procedure would be routine. Little did she know it know that the laparoscopic procedure to remove the cysts would kill her. Fedyaeva was supposed to be given saline solution, but instead was given the formaldehyde-type solution. Fedyaeva then complained to her mother, saying that she was "dying."It turns out she was right. Doctors tried to wash her abdominal cavity of the formaldehyde.Her organs began failing. In response, doctors tried to keep her alive, but she died last Thursday. Russia's minister of health, family and social well-being Rashid Abdullov said, "I express my sincere condolences to the relatives and relatives of Catherine Fedjaevoj. It's a big tragedy! We will provide all the necessary assistance to the family. John McCain's position on a border wall to stop illegal immigration, an alleged conspirator directed others to "brand McCain as an old geezer." A veteran NBC News producer who worked with Ronan Farrow on Farrow's explosive story on disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein has left the network and is speaking out, calling the network's decision not to make the story public "a massive breach of journalistic integrity."Rich McHugh, who left NBC News' investigative unit recently, said in a statement provided to CNN that the orders not to run the story came from "the highest levels of NBC. That was unethical.""At a critical juncture in our reporting on Harvey Weinstein, as we were about to interview a woman with a credible allegation of rape against him, I was told not to do the interview and ordered to stand down, thus effectively killing the story," McHugh said in the statement.An NBC News spokesperson said in a statement that "the assertion that NBC News tried to kill the Weinstein story while Ronan Farrow was at NBC News, or even more ludicrously, after he left NBC News, is an outright lie.""In August of 2017, after NBC News assigned Ronan Farrow to investigate Weinstein and supported his reporting efforts for eight months, Farrow believed his reporting was ready for air. A Marin County, California doctor says his research into medical marijuana has identified a compound that can help diabetes patients.Dr. Michael Moskowitz, President of Bay Area Pain Medical Associates, says it’s not about getting high, it’s about getting well – and he thinks he’s on to something.Moskowitz believes he has identified a rare component of marijuana called THCV that he says is helping one of his diabetic patients – a patient who’s blood sugar level varies between 50 and 1000 in a single day.“It’s not clear, but it appears that, on a preliminary basis, for the first month that he did that, the extent of how much he varied seems to be less,” said Moskowitz.THCV is found in a strain of marijuana called Black Beauty. It’s leaves are much darker than most marijuana.Although she doesn’t have diabetes, Nina Murphy has chronic neck and back pain she used to treat with traditional pain medication. “I was a little skeptical. I haven’t used marijuana before so it’s not something I was just going to jump into,” said Murphy. “I’m extremely pleased and I hope to off my meds in the next couple months so, yeah!”Moskowitz says more study needs to be done with Black Beauty. “Just having the opportunity to work with something that clearly has therapeutic value, but figuring out how to optimize that and make that work the best for the most number of people is very exciting,” he said.Moskowitz will travel to Miami next week to speaking at a conference to discuss his findings. 1500

A US Navy helicopter crashed onto the flight deck of an aircraft carrier in the Philippines Sea on Friday, injuring personnel on board.The MH-60 Seahawk hit the flight deck of the USS Ronald Reagan shortly after takeoff around 9 a.m., according to a statement released by the Navy's Seventh Fleet. All injured are in stable condition and are being evaluated by medical staff.The Navy did not say how many people were injured but that some "will be medically evacuated ashore" without specifying a location.An investigation has been opened into the cause of the crash, according to the statement.The incident occurred during routine operations in the Philippine Sea, which spreads north and east of the Philippines.The aircraft carrier "remains fully mission capable" and normal flight operations to support the mission of "support and security and stability in the Indo-Pacific Region" have resumed, the Navy said.Last week the Nimitz-class, or, nuclear-powered aircraft participated in the International Fleet Review near South Korea's Jeju Island.In May 2017, the USS Ronald Reagan began sea trials in the Pacific before replacing the USS Carl Vinson near the Korean Peninsula.The 1,092-foot Reagan carries a crew of 4,539 and is equipped with roughly 60 aircraft, according to the Navy.
