SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego's cost of living runs more than ,500 a month, making it one of the worst monthly hits in the country's biggest cities, according to a new study.San Diego's cost of living ranked 64th out of the study's 75 most populous U.S. cities, according to Move.org. Average monthly costs in America's Finest City came in at about ,665, the study revealed.In San Diego, prices were broken down by rent for a one-bedroom apartment, utilities, internet, gasoline, and groceries for one month:Rent: ,970.93Utilities: 1.66Internet: .05Gasoline: 6.15Groceries: 2.07Prices were pulled from Numbeo's updated estimates in June 2019.Charting as the absolute worst cities for cost of living where San Francisco (,210.60 a month), New York City (,956.11 a month), and San Jose, Calif. (,289.07 a month.) Half of the study's 10 worst cities were located in California.On the other end of the spectrum, El Paso, Texas, ranked best with a monthly cost of living of ,182.96, followed by Lincoln, Neb. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego-based U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested a sex offender and stopped smuggling at sea over the holiday weekend, Customs and Border Patrol officials announced Thursday. Agents spotted a man in East San Diego County about six miles north of the U.S.-Mexico border at 12:30 a.m. on July 6. The 53-year-old Honduran national did not have any documents verifying his residency, officials said. Agents took the unidentified Honduran man to a station for processing. They discovered he had been convicted of sexually assaulting a child and sentenced to prison in New Hampshire in 2008, according to the CBP. The man will be processed for illegal re-entry after removal, officials said. A U.S. Coast Guard cutter made the second significant arrest of the holiday weekend, officials said. The crew intercepted a boat off Point Loma the evening of July 7. Although it appeared to have one person on board, Coast Guard crew members found an additional 12 people suspected of trying to enter the U.S. illegally, officials reported. The group taken into custody included nine men and two women from Mexico, and a Salvadoran man and woman. Border Patrol Agents also arrested 530 people who tried to cross the border illegally over the long weekend. 1270

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Sky10 was there as police and firefighters responded to a car crash in San Carlos Friday evening. The crash, which happened just after 5:30 p.m., happened in the 6200 block of Del Paso Avenue, not far from Patrick Henry High School. The female driver hit the gas pedal instead of the brake when approaching the garage door, police said. She hit the washer and dryer, pushing them through the wall and into the house. The driver and occupants of the home were not injured in the crash. Firefighters helped pull down the garage door and advised the family to have a structural expert check the walls where the washer and dryer pushed through.   700
