Long Island teachers did a different kind of safety dance to prepare students for the new school year. Teachers at Lenox Elementary School in the Baldwin School District filmed a parody of the Men Without Hats song and altered the lyrics to focus on coronavirus and social distancing. Music Teacher Christine Benedetti and teacher Tom Duffy lead the project. "I think showing the masks and showing us washing our hands is the way we model good behavior for the students," Benedetti said.Students watched the video Tuesday to learn about the health and safety requirements in school. It was not a quiet afternoon Monday at Madison Square Park.Brian Kemsley was walking with his girlfriend when he saw and heard a commotion on the Fifth Avenue side of Madison Square Park. He saw a man trying to rip away a stroller.“It's not a matter of stepping in it's a matter of duty, when you see a woman and her child screaming,” he said.He says the man was asked to let go of the stroller but kept reaching for the baby. The mother was also holding another toddler and everyone was screaming.Kemsley pinned him down and waited for police to arrive. It was captured by a witness on social media. Witnesses recorded video and called 911. Rangers arrived after about fifteen minutes and Kemsley says police took the man into custody. He was taken to a hospital and no one was hurt. TAMPA, Fla. -- With a mandatory mask order underway in the city of Tampa, Will Rivera made sure every customer covered up when inside GNC on South Howard Avenue. "You can’t keep social distancing inside the store because it’s a very small location, it’s not possible. You have more than two, three customers in there, it’s definitely not possible so the safest thing to do is wear a mask," said Rivera. Rivera said he was fired last week for turning away customers not wearing face coverings. Rivera says his district manager stepped in, stating they would not lose sales over the mask mandate. "This is a store founded on health and wellness and it seems like there’s no care of health and wellness of individuals that come into the store, other than profit," said Rivera. After several attempts, GNC has yet to return any calls or emails seeking comment about Rivera's termination or corporate mask policy. This comes as the supplement and vitamin chain announced it has declared bankruptcy and plans to close 800 stores. Rivera's attorney, Jason Woodside, sent the following statement: "Florida's Private Whistleblower Statute provides broad protection for employees who object to, or refuse to participate in, any activity, policy, or practice of an employer which is in violation of a law, rule, or regulation. Trying to avoid the grocery store these days?If you order through Instacart, you can have your groceries delivered right to your door from dozens of different supermarkets.However, some customers claim the people grabbing those groceries for you may be helping themselves as well.Terri Angel loves the convenience of Instacart grocery delivery from stores,, but she is getting concerned with mysterious charges that keep showing up on her bill."The other day, after I went back and reviewed the receipt, there was a pack of cigarettes on it," she said.Someone had billed her an extra ."It was a very expensive pack of cigarettes, a brand I haven't heard of, purchased and put on our list," she said. "So it was on our receipt and we did pay for it."Another day, she was billed for Red Bull energy drink."Just recently, on the 8th, a Red Bull was added at the end of the shopping cart," she said. "I guess they were thirsty and needed energy and decided to add on a Red Bull."She wonders how many others she's missed.Angel is executive director of a collection of group homes for the disabled, and orders groceries for them several times a week.It's those disabled clients, she says, who are being ripped off.Complaints increase as orders surgeA recent report in USA Today claims a growing number of customers accuse Instacart shoppers of stealing their groceries.Instacart's Facebook page has a number of complaints of similar mystery charges.It was pretty much inevitable that during a pandemic, with so many shoppers now ordering online and so many more people having to be hired to fulfill those orders, that we would see an increase in complaints.Instacart says orders have surged 300% this year, and it has hired tens of thousands of new shoppers to handle the load.It says each are thoroughly checked out before being hired, but says occasional errors and problems do happen. But It notes that "in these rare instances ... customers should contact Instacart care to have their order refunded."Terri Angel has one other piece of advice: Go over your receipt every time."Absolutely," she said. "Check your bill.
