ROSARITO, Mexico (KGTV) - With the San Diego region's high cost of living, many are making their move south of the border to save money.For Marilyn Widd, every moment with her granddaughter Gracie is special when she visits her at a home in Vista."The area is beautiful. I love it," said Widd.Four years ago, Widd and her husband briefly thought about retiring in San Diego County. We also have two Costcos ... a lot of the same products," said Widd.When it comes to health care costs, the Widds have options. The two have Medicare and get some of their medical treatments in San Diego. We do get to travel," said Widd.She's not alone. Various estimates put the number of Americans living in Rosarito between 12,000 and 15,000. In the past few years, U.S. citizens have reported that number is increasing, especially among those under the age of 50 who commute to San Diego. Widd has seen it firsthand. Usually the number is closer to one volunteer. You have to think it's about the cost of living for them," said Widd.Like those commuters, Widd is a part-time San Diegan. Twice a month, Marilyn and her husband get in the car and make the 2-hour drive to visit their family. The trips are a priceless part of a life she now calls her dream retirement. "At the end of the day, we made the best choice for us. I expect to live in Rosarito forever," said Widd. 2628

(AP) -- Family members of nine women and children from an offshoot Mormon community who were killed in Mexico in November have filed a federal lawsuit against the Juarez drug cartel.They accuse the cartel of carrying out the attack in retribution for publicly criticizing and demonstrating against the cartel.A lawyer representing the family members said they initiated the lawsuit to show the Juarez cartel was responsible for the Nov. 4 slaughter and to seek damages.It's not clear whether representatives of the cartel would appear in court to defend against the lawsuit. 582

During the Season, it continued along with Sexual Harassment from a recurring guest star and the racist commentary & bullying from the Hair Dept. Head escalated into Sexual Assault at our Wrap party.The Sexual Harassment though reported directly to the Showrunner/EP remained undocumented and was not reported to HR as promised. The Hair Dept. Head was fired ONLY after the sexual assault and NOT for an entire year of outward racism/racially charged language and bullying behavior in and out of the Hair and Makeup trailer. HR protocol was never adhered to following the above reports given by me to my Showrunner/EP and an investigation was never issued for any of my claims. The only time I was asked to participate in an investigation was after a meeting I called in June following our Season 2 announcement. This meeting included the Showrunner and two other producers as well as my agent and SAG-AFTRA Union Rep. It was clear to all present in the meeting that the Showrunner had not shared my reports with the any of the producers. After my initial report of sexual harassment, I was assured that the actor would be fired. I was also asked to film with him the very next day as a courtesy to the script, even though we had not begun filming the episode yet. This actor reappeared on our call sheet at the end of the season, I was even written in scenes with him. I asked the Showrunner about this and he admitted to me that the actor had not been fired nor had he gotten HR involved. I was asked to return this season, and promised that “everything was handled.” The investigation hadn’t even begun and Season 2 had already started filming. I turned it down and I walked. (AP) — Airbnb will prohibit one-night rentals over Halloween weekend as part of its ongoing effort to crack down on party houses. The action comes nearly a year after a deadly shooting at an Airbnb in Orinda, Calif. Five people were killed in the shooting, which happened during an unauthorized Halloween party. Airbnb says it will ban one-night rentals of entire homes in the U.S. and Canada on Oct. 30 or Oct. 31. Previously booked rentals will be canceled and Airbnb will offer refunds.
