SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police identified Tuesday the officer involved in a shooting in Little Italy Saturday.Several witnesses flagged down a patrol car driving at 1300 India Street about 6:45 p.m. to let the officer know about a man who was not wearing a shirt and acting belligerently.The SDPD report indicated Officer Anthony Bueno found the man, Brent Zadina, on the hood of a car, yelling at the driver.RELATED: Officer Bueno has history of conflictsZadina appeared to be drunk or under the influence of drugs, police said.Officer Bueno tried to arrest Zadina but he resisted and the officer used his taser, according to the report. Zadina continued to struggle and the officer feared for his life, said the SDPD.Officer Bueno fired one round but missed Zadina. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – San Diego police are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing 17-year-old boy with several health problems.According to police, Jeremy Jose Sanchez was last seen by his mother at their apartment on Aug. 23 at around 9 p.m. Police did not disclose what part of the city the boy was last seen.The teen suffers from vision damage, loss of hearing, and has active tuberculosis. Police said he takes medications for his conditions, but he left his home without them.Police said Jeremy was reported as a runaway juvenile at risk due to health conditions.The teen is Latino with a tanned complexion, 6 feet 1 inches tall, weighs around 146 pounds, and has brown eyes and black hair.Jeremy was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, blue jeans, and white, red and black Jordan shoes.Anyone with information on the teen is urged to contact San Diego police at 619-531-2000 or 911. 902

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Responding to the aftermath of a disaster is a drill the San Diego Humane Society knows well.Just weeks ago the nonprofit’s Emergency Response Team was on the front lines of Hurricane Florence, helping over 100 animals; including pigs, cows, and peacocks.Lt. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diegans should get their flu shots before the flu season typically starts, county health officials said Wednesday.Most flu cases are reported between the end of October and April or May, according to the County Health and Human Services Agency.It takes about two weeks after receiving the flu shot to develop immunity to the virus, said officials.“People should get vaccinated before the worst of the flu season gets here,” said Wilma Wooten, M.D., M.P.H., County public health officer. “The vaccine is safe and effective and is available across the region.”342 people in San Diego County died of the virus during the last flu season, officials said. Most of the deaths were among those over 65, with underlying medical conditions. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego city leaders met Monday to look for new ways to tackle homelessness. Several departments and organizations gave presentations to a committee, lead by Councilmember Chris Ward.The Select Committee on Homelessness met to discuss how to create new employment opportunities for homeless and how to get them into the existing rapid-rehousing programs. They also discussed a new program that would house all homeless services in one location.The San Diego Police Department provided an overview of their new Neighborhood Policing division. They say they are working to provide outreach, mental health services, and enforcement when needed.San Diego residents spoke during the public comment portion of the meeting, thanking the committee for their work but asking them to do more.Several other agencies also had presentations, providing updates on the temporary bridge shelters and the homeless storage facilities.The Select Committee on Homelessness meets one to two times a month. 1013
