SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Uber says its mask verification safety feature is now available to all riders in the U.S. and Canada.The company made the announcement Thursday and also revealed it has removed the access of more than 1,250 riders since its “No Mask, No Ride” policy was put in effect in May.Beginning Thursday, if a driver reports that a rider wasn’t wearing a mask in their vehicle, the rider will be required to take a selfie with their mask or face covering before they’re able to take another trip with Uber.With the addition of the new feature, Uber says one driver's feedback can help ensure the safety of using Uber for the next driver."We all have a shared responsibility to help keep our communities safe and healthy and we're working with riders, drivers, delivery people and restaurants to make sure we're doing our part," said Matthew Price, Uber Canada's General Manager. SAN YSIDRO, California — Migrants rushed the border Sunday morning, forcing the closure of the San Ysidro Port of Entry and several San Diego interstates. Southbound Interstate 5 and 805 closed at State Route 905, forcing drivers to be rerouted on one of the busiest travel days of the year. All north and southbound lanes of the port of entry were also closed to all vehicles and pedestrians, halting traffic. Las Americas Premium Outlets was also shut down due to safety and security. Check out the map below for more:  559

(KGTV) - Customs and Border Protection officials tweeted thermal camera video Friday of men climbing the U.S.-Mexico border fence and damaging the concertina wire.The video was recorded by U.S. Border Patrol cameras placed near Border Field State Park in Imperial Beach, opposite from where migrants have been gathering as more members of the Central American caravan arrive in Tijuana.There was no word on whether the incident captured on video led to an arrest.The Department of Defense confirmed with 10News that military troops are at Ream Field in Imperial Beach to assist in Border enforcement. The Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force members here, consist of 400 Marines out of Camp Pendelton, as well as an Army Military Police Battalion. The Marines will be unarmed, focusing primarily on logistical support. The Army Police will help with security.“All seeking to enter the U.S. are urged to do so at one of more than 320 official U.S. Ports of Entry,” Customs and Border Protection officials wrote in the tweet.  1069

SAN YSIDRO, Calif. (KGTV) — One man was found dead near train tracks in San Ysidro on Wednesday, prompting a homicide investigation.San Diego Police were called to the area of 300 S. Vista Ave. just before 3:30 p.m. Officers arrived to find a person, described as a Hispanic man in his 20s or 30s, down in the roadway. Scooter company Lime is recalling one of its models from every city after realizing it could break apart while in use. The company says the model occasionally breaks "when subject to repeated abuse."The scooters were manufactured by a Chinese company called Okai, according to a Washington Post interview with Lime representatives. The Washington Post said it could not get in touch with Okai for comment.Lime plans to decommission any Okai scooters in its fleets.Those who experience the breaking scooter are typically leaving them where they break, and it has been difficult for the company to tally how many have broken, the Washington Post reports.This recall follows one issued a couple months ago stating some Lime scooters could catch fire. That recall of 2,000 scooters said some have batteries that smoldered and sometimes caught fire.The recall had a small impact in Lime's west coast markets. 911
