(AP) — Two U.S. Air Force airmen killed in a training jet crash at Vance Air Force Base in northwestern Oklahoma have been identified as an instructor and a student pilot.The base said Friday that 47-year-old instructor pilot Lt. Col. John “Matt” Kincade and 23-year-old student pilot Lt. Evacuations have been ordered for northern Arizona communities due to the Tinder Fire burning near Happy Jack.According to Coconino County officials, evacuations were ordered Sunday by the Coconino County Sheriff's Office for affected communities north, east and west of Highway 87 including Moqui Ranchettes, all of Starlight Pines, Clear Creek (except 1 and 2), all of Timber Ranch, all of Tamarron, Pine Canyon, Blue Ridge Estates, Ponderosa Pines, and Mogollon Ranches. The evacuation will be in effect until further notice, deputies will stay in the area to provide 24-hour security.  The fire has burned an estimated 8,000 acres and is burning 1.5 miles northeast of Blue Ridge Reservoir. ESCONDIDO, Calif (KGTV) - An albino red-tailed boa constrictor named "Lemony Snicket" is back home.A man wearing a hood and backpack returned the snake on May 16 to the EcoVivarium children's museum in Escondido. Museum officials believe Lemony disappeared on April 29. The snake was dehydrated and had not been fed. It was also full of mites. Later in the day, they said the boa was missing.A security camera facing Lemony's enclosure was also inoperable. Earlier the same day, the camera broke. A security expert said it appeared the camera was knocked out by some type of electrical charge.The museum said it would not press any charges against the person they believe to have taken the snake. 1144

FALLBROOK (CNS) - Authorities Saturday were continuing to seek a driver who was involved in a crash with another car in Fallbrook early Friday then fled, was pursued by the other car's driver and escaped when the other driver was involved in a second crash.Officers said the driver of the Mustang was in critical condition at a hospital as a result of the crash.The dangerous chain of events began shortly before 9:40 a.m. when a brown SUV, possibly a GMC Envoy, and a Ford Mustang collided on southbound South Mission Road at Stage Coach Lane, just west of Fallbrook High School, according to information from CHP Officer Mark Latulippe.The "involved vehicles began to chase each other," Latulippe said, and the two cars initially headed south, but later turned around and continued north on South Mission Road.As the cars approached the intersection with Stage Coach Lane -- the same area where the first collision occurred -- a Honda CRV was also nearing the signal, heading west on Stage Coach.The SUV made it through the intersection, but the Mustang was struck by the CRV, which was heading into the intersection with a green light, Latulippe said.Another two cars, a Toyota Tundra and a Volvo V60, were also struck by the Mustang after the impact with the CRV.The driver of the Mustang, a 19-year-old Fallbrook man, suffered "major injuries" and was taken to Palomar Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition Friday night, Latulippe said.A female passenger in the Mustang, also 19, was being treated at Sharp Memorial Hospital for injuries described as minor.Drivers and passengers in the other cars involved in the second crash had complaints of pain, but no other injuries, according to Latulippe.It is believed the car involved in the initial crash is possibly an early 2000s GMC Envoy driven my a man. ENCINITAS, Calif., (KGTV) -- A day after a giant rock formation fell and killed three locals at Grandview Beach, geologist Dr. Pat Abbott assessed the damage. Shes off and wading in high tide, he explained the cause of the Friday's tragedy. "The waves come up and beat against the cliffs, and the gravity pulls on those cliffs day after day and year after year," Dr. Abbott said. "It just gradually weakens, and one day it can't take it anymore and just falls down."The waves nibble away the rock at the bottom, and the water for the ice plants on the top, brown, softer sediment weaken the formation. "All that does really is add weight to the cliff," Dr. Abbott said. " And of course, the more weight that is there, the stronger the gravity."But as we walked along the beach, we found many more problem spots. Just feet north of Friday's fallen rock, there is a formation of what looks to be a small cave. With no bottom support, the top will eventually break off. "When that falls, that's the same thing as having a cement wall fall on you," Dr. Abbott said. We walked a few more feet north and saw what he called another visible sign of danger. "This strong cliff here and this rock mass now is now detached from the main rock," Dr. Abbott pointed.The vertical fracture separated the front rock formation from the rest of the bluff. This is a sign that it is ready to form. Exactly when it falls, only Mother Nature will know. So the next time you decide on where o put down your beach towel, remember to study the rock behind you. "Look for fractures or overhanging rock masses, and don't go near those," Dr. Abbott warned. Dr. Abbott also said the visible fractures at the bottom of the bluffs are far away enough from the homes atop, that they should not pose any danger. 1787
