Symptoms can include diarrhea, fever and stomach cramps and can last four to seven days.The earliest illness linked to this outbreak began September 25, and the most recent case began June 4.Severe illness may require hospitalization and treatment with antibiotics. Those most at risk for severe illness and complications are children younger than 5 and adults over 65, as well as people with compromised immune systems.The youngest patient in this outbreak is younger than 1 year old, and the oldest is 76.The US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service issued a public health alert "out of an abundance of caution," the agency said."FSIS is concerned that some product may be frozen and in consumers' freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged to properly handle, prepare, and cook these raw chicken products."The CDC and the USDA are working with state health officials on the investigation.Kosher food is prepared under supervision to ensure that the dietary laws followed by observant Jews are adhered to. (KGTV) – A two-vehicle collision on an Oceanside street sent 10 people to the hospital late Sunday night.Oceanside police said the crash occurred at around 11:45 p.m. on state Route 76 at Douglas Drive.According to police, a silver sedan ran a red light and collided with a pickup truck with a family inside. The impact caused the truck to flip onto its side.A man, a pregnant woman and two children were trapped in the truck, while six people in the sedan were also trapped.It took emergency crews about 30 minutes to free the trapped people from both vehicles.The 10 people were taken to local hospitals with unspecified injuries. Fire personnel said at least six of the victims had “critical” injuries.The crash is under investigation, and police are trying to determine if the driver of the silver sedan was under the influence at the time of the collision. 887

OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) - The United States Department of Veterans Affairs is being sued in federal court over an Oceanside doctor who is accused of sexually assaulting multiple patients. According to the lawsuit filed this week, the VA is being sued for alleged negligence. Dr. Edgar Manzanera is criminally accused of sexually assaulting five female patients but has pleaded not guilty. One of his accusers who is a veteran is a plaintiff in the new federal suit. According to the complaint, she claims that the Oceanside clinic failed to warn her that several patients had already complained about the doctor's alleged inappropriate sexual contact. According to the court documents, the "…VA did not investigate these prior complaints, or suspend Manzanera from evaluating women for VA."In an email to 10News, a VA spokesperson wrote, “VA does not typically comment on pending litigation.”Dr. Manzanera’s criminal trial starts in September. 952
