Volkswagen has issued a recall for more than 56,000 cars and SUVs in the U.S. The recall was issued because the rear coil springs can break without warning. It can cause people to lose control of their vehicles.The recall covers some Golf hatchbacks from 2015 through 2019, Sportwagens (2017 through 2019), the 2019 Jetta sedan and 2018 and 2019 Tiguan SUV.A broken spring can damage a tire or become a road hazard, according to safety officials. Washington has become the first state in the nation to pass a law allowing composting as an alternative to burial or cremation of human remains.Gov. Jay Inslee signed a bill Tuesday legalizing human composting. The bill will go into effect in May next year.Currently in Washington, bodies can either be cremated or buried. The process of recomposition provides a third option that speeds up the process of turning dead bodies into soil, a practice colloquially known as "human composting." One day, while hauling elk back to his camp, Brook encountered a grizzly bear.Before Brook's could react, the grizzly started to attack him. During the attack, Brook says he remembered saying to himself, "Lord I can use a little help about now. Not really understanding he'd already been at work, because I'm alive."Brook, whose face was disfigured in the gruesome incident, is still recovering.He says he lost consciousness during the attack. When he awoke, Brook could hear the bear sniffing him. He recalls reaching for his knife and stabbing the bear, before quickly making his escape. Badly injured, Brook says he saw his nose on the ground. He quickly grabbed it, put it in his pocket and ran, screaming for help. Brook was flown to Swedish Medical Center in Denver, Colorado, where he was placed into a coma for 30 days. Miraculously, Brook lived. Then, his remarkable facial reconstruction journey began. Plastic surgeons Dr. Lily Daniali and Dr. Benson Pulikkottil--a husband and wife duo who work at the hospital’s burn and reconstructive center--were in charge of reconstructing Brook’s face. Areas of Brook’s face that sustained the most damage were his nose and upper lip. Fortunately, doctors had Brook’s nose. "Ultimately, we took a chance to see if it would take, which it did," says Dr. Pulikkottil. But how the doctors were able to save his nose is a miracle within itself. The surgeons sewed Brook’s nose to his forearm to keep it alive. Meanwhile, Brook underwent dozens of surgeries. Doctors used cartilage and tissue from all over his body to put his face back together. Using skin from his legs, the surgeons created a new upper lip for Brook. Hair on his head was used to create a mustache. This week, the surgeons were finally able to reattach Brook’s nose to his face. They say the surgery was successful and Brook is doing well. “I'm super proud of him, super proud," says Brook’s wife, Martha, who has been his side through it all.The Brooks have kept their spirits bright, but there’s one thing Brook says he’ll miss the most about his old life. “I'll never feel my wife kiss,” Brook says. “I'll never. That's probably the biggest one for me."Following the surgery, Brook lost the ability to feel in some places of his face. But as the services have to expanded to include debit card services, customers across the country have experience issues in accessing their money.For Amber Woods of Westlansd, Michigan, it was all about convenience. She could quickly transfer funds using a special debit card linked to her Cash App account."I started using it to pay bills or send money to my mom, my sister," she said.But then, she says she hit a snag. Without explanation, she couldn't transfer her 9 dollars to her bank account — it was stuck inside the app.Cash App does not have a customer service phone number, leaving users to make contact in the app or via e-mail. Woods did reach out several times, but says she ended up with only generic replies.Nationwide, others have faced similar issues. On Twitter, one user tweeted at Cash App's support account complaining that ,000 was locked in the app. Another Twitter user tweeted at Cash App claiming he was unable to pay his rent because of a tie up.After nearly two weeks, Woods says she finally recouped her funds, but the delay comes as no surprise to the Better Business Bureau (BBB)."Their communication style...is not great," said Melanie Duquesnel of the BBB serving Eastern Michigan.The consumer protection organization has been tracking complaints against Cash App’s parent company Square, nearly 2,000 of them settled in just the last three years."It just made me mad, what gives you this right to hold onto it," Woods said.It turns out Cash App and Square do have a right. The company’s legal fine print saying that Square “...may limit how many transfers you can initiate....to your….bank account and the amount of funds you can transfer in a single transaction… ” Square argues that limited transactions allows the company to screen for risk of fraud.In a statement, Square said it was looking into the matter and added that its "goal is always to provide customers with fast and thoughtful customer support that resolves the issue.
