Surveillance video showed officers lining up dancers to be photographed and taking their information."I felt like it was really, really, like, uncomfortable," dancer Brittany Murphy told 10News in 2014. "I don't understand why I have to get my picture taken. I asked them if it was of my face and they said yes. So, I got up against the locker and [the officer] is standing really far. Kevin Mayer told 10News in a 2014 statement. "In most cases, Vice Unit detectives do not require or request clubs to shut down. But trying to improve the home you live in can become a budget-busting nightmare.According to a new survey from the Freedom Debt Relief, 69 percent of homeowners plan to renovate within the next five years. But 60 percent of people surveyed say they can't afford needed upgrades.That's why 73 percent of the respondents plan to finance their renovation plans."People want to stay in their homes," says Michael Micheletti, the Communications Director for Freedom Debt Relief. "Once it becomes your house, it becomes your home. So, perhaps people are willing to take on more debt to stay in those communities and those school districts they've become accustomed to."Micheletti says most of the people who plan to renovation will spend either more than ,000 or between ,000 and ,000. With that much money at stake, it's important to know what projects are worth the cost."There's give and take" says Gregg Cantor, the CEO of construction company Murray Lampert. "You have to prioritize what's most important."According to the survey, the most popular upgrades are also the most expensive. New flooring topped the list at 59 percent, bathroom renovations were 53 percent, and new kitchens were 51 percent. After that, Landscaping (43%), Windows (31%), Fencing (28%), Roofing (27%) and Decks (26%) were the most popular.But Cantor says smaller, aesthetic-based upgrades can make your home more appealing to buyers. Nancy Sussman is no stranger to the courthouse. Usually, she’s representing her clients, but this time she’s defending herself against criminal charges that could send her to prison.Traffic backed up. Drivers snapping video of how the high speed chase ended. Police say Sussman finally stopped when they laid down spike strips. Still, they say she refused to come out of the car, eventually forcing them to smash out one of the windows.10News is learning new details about the woman behind the wheel of the white Mercedes. She’s charged with felony evading, driving with a suspended license and resisting arrest.Sussman tried to explain to the judge why she didn’t stop. “Regarding the chase, I was a victim of police brutality on October 28th.”According to a police report, the October 28 case involves Sussman and her neighbor, a Border Patrol agent. In that case, she’s charged with burglary, making criminal threats, vandalism and other charges.On December 30, police tried pulling her over on that warrant, finally arresting her after that chase on I-5.If convicted on the charges connected to the chase, Sussman faces more than six years in prison. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Owners of sportfishing and diving charters in San Diego expressed their grief and condolences Monday after learning of the deadly boat fire near Santa Cruz Island. John Conniff, the owner of Islander Charters, was at sea guiding a trip when he heard chatter over the radio. "It was in the middle of the night, and I could actually hear it from where I was sleeping, but we could only hear the Coast Guard side of things, at first I heard that there was a fire on a boat," said Conniff. "We couldn't hear the Conception side of the story, but I could hear Coast Guard responding to a serious mayday outside of Santa Barbara."It wasn't until Conniff returned to San Diego that he learned just how devastating the fire was. "My heart goes out to them… my first thought when I heard it on the radio was my own family and then of the families of the 25 people sleeping below decks on our boat," said Conniff. Coniff runs sportfishing and dive trips anywhere from one-and-a-half to five days. He says the whole industry is grieving. Patrick Douglas, with Horizon Charters, posted this message on their Facebook page. "Like many of you in the California dive community we woke up to the devastating news of the Truth Aquatics dive boat fire off Santa Cruz Island last night. Sending our deepest condolences and love out to the families impacted, this is a very sad day for the industry. #prayers"By phone, Douglas told 10News that dive boats in California operate at a higher level than any other state. He says they maintain the highest standards and an incident like this is an anomaly. In his 30 years of experience, Douglas has never seen an incident so severe. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Neighbors say overnight surveillance video of a tagger in action is a glimpse of an ongoing, frustrating problem.Near Euclid Avenue and Polk Avenue, there is a church, an elementary school, and a sight Leanne Montano has seen before."Sad they're destroying someone else's property," said Montano.Video shows what unfolded just down the street. Just before 2 a.m., a motion-activated light flashes, but these vandals are undeterred. With another man and a person on a bike nearby, someone in a cap and hoodie casually begins spray painting the back wall of a home. For more than 40 seconds, he tags the wall, before he and his cohorts leave.It appears they weren't done. 10News found similar tags on fences, and garage door after garage door. A block away at Euclid Elementary, there was more graffiti. Montano's place was spared, but her home has been hit several times before. She says tagging - including the school - is a weekly occurrence."Tagging leads to other activities that aren't safe. My concern as a parent and resident is the children's safety and them walking to school, feeling safe. It allows other people to treat our neighborhood like crap.
