A US Navy helicopter crashed onto the flight deck of an aircraft carrier in the Philippines Sea on Friday, injuring personnel on board.The MH-60 Seahawk hit the flight deck of the USS Ronald Reagan shortly after takeoff around 9 a.m., according to a statement released by the Navy's Seventh Fleet. All injured are in stable condition and are being evaluated by medical staff.The Navy did not say how many people were injured but that some "will be medically evacuated ashore" without specifying a location.An investigation has been opened into the cause of the crash, according to the statement.The incident occurred during routine operations in the Philippine Sea, which spreads north and east of the Philippines.The aircraft carrier "remains fully mission capable" and normal flight operations to support the mission of "support and security and stability in the Indo-Pacific Region" have resumed, the Navy said.Last week the Nimitz-class, or, nuclear-powered aircraft participated in the International Fleet Review near South Korea's Jeju Island.In May 2017, the USS Ronald Reagan began sea trials in the Pacific before replacing the USS Carl Vinson near the Korean Peninsula.The 1,092-foot Reagan carries a crew of 4,539 and is equipped with roughly 60 aircraft, according to the Navy. A Minneapolis pi?ata maker is apologizing for hanging pieces of his work -- pi?atas which look like black people -- from the front porch of his house.The episode caused an uproar in his mostly African-American neighborhood after passersby mistook the pi?atas, which he says he hung up to dry, for a racist display.It all started when Victor Chavarria, owner of Happy Kids pi?atas, was filling an order for a wedding. The customer had requested racially diverse pi?atas that looked like members of their wedding party.So Chavarria got up at 4 a.m. Friday to create the papier-mache pi?atas, then hung them on the front porch of his home in northern Minneapolis to dry.Someone driving by his house that morning snapped a photo of the pi?atas and put it on Twitter.The social post soon brought a stream of threats to Chavarria, and even his wife and two toddlers.  874

A top ranking member of the Sheriff’s Department is speaking about changes he feels are needed, following the investigation into Assistant Sheriff Rich Miller.On Tuesday, Team 10 confirmed Miller was being accused of inappropriate conduct. Miller is currently using his accumulated time off until his scheduled retirement on March 2nd.Commander Dave Myers, who is running for Sheriff, emphasized women should feel safe to come forward. He used the example of Deputy Richard Fischer, accused by more than a dozen women of sexual misconduct while on duty.“It took after a woman complained… another 13 women to come forward before anything was really done. If we can’t police ourselves within the department, how’s the public going to trust us to do that outside the department?” Myers said.Myers has been with the department for 32 years.“One of my goals is to create that transparency,” Myers said.Sheriff Gore told Team 10 in regards to Miller, “allegations are taken very seriously and given the highest priority.” 1023

A vehicle was intentionally driven Friday into three students outside a high school near the southern French city of Toulouse, injuring them, the country's interior ministry said.A driver was arrested after the collision, and the Toulouse prosecutor has been called to investigate, the ministry said.The collision happened outside Saint Exupéry high school, according to CNN affiliate BFM TV.Initial information about the conditions of the injured -- identified by authorities only as Chinese students -- conflicted. The interior ministry said the students were lightly injured; BFM reported that two were in serious condition.Toulouse Prosecutor Pierre-Yves Couilleau said around noon ET that two students remained hospitalized and one had left the hospital.The vehicle accelerated as the students crossed a road, the interior ministry said.The driver has a history of mental illness, the interior ministry said in a statement. A Nashville doggie day care has filed a lawsuit for million against people who they said have destroyed their reputation. They said online posts in a popular neighborhood Facebook page just weren't true.The Dog Spot in East Nashville filed the lawsuit for libel, fraud and other charges against Jamie Bayer and Bari Rachel Miley Hardin for comments they made on the East Nashville Facebook page starting last month.According to the lawsuit, Bayer posted in part: "...how many dogs have died at The Dog Spot?"  Adding, "I found out two dogs died there. Since then I've heard up to four, and recently even seven."The lawsuit says, among other things, Hardin posted "Lots of dogs have been killed there" and "people can't talk when they've been paid off."The lawsuit from The Dog spot says "These are false statements.""It's not acceptable, its not freedom of speech. you cannot yell fire in a movie theater," said Chad Baker, one of the owners of The Dog Spot. "Just because it's Facebook, doesn't mean you can go on, and say things that are not true, and what's being said about us is not true."There has been at least one dog death at the day care. Rachael Waldrop's Chihuahua "Hall" died after an incident with a larger dog last year.
