BEIJING, March 20 (Xinhua) -- Facing the novel coronavirus outbreak, the U.S. side's shifting blame to China will do no good to the epidemic prevention and control in the United States, Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said Friday.

The ministry said investigations will be carried out into any cases with potential quality issues, and vowed zero tolerance on such issues.

Spain opposes any acts to stigmatize the virus, and highly values the contribution made by overseas Chinese in Spain to the country's development as well as prevention and control of the epidemic, she said, adding that Spain will provide adequate medical care and social services to ensure their health and safety.

"We must accelerate the development of cross-border e-commerce and other new models to boost foreign trade and investment. Competent departments must exercise sound quality supervision and ensure unimpeded logistic services," Li said.

Friday's key meeting called for more proactive fiscal measures with deficit spending such as issuing special government bonds to support the virus fight and increasing the issuance of local government bonds as well as raising the utilization efficiency of capital to help stabilize the economy.
