DEL MAR, Calif. (KGTV) -- The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after someone vandalized a park in Del Mar. According to authorities, someone drove onto the grass at Shores Park and did donuts overnight Sunday. Due in part to recent rain, authorities say the incident left extensive damage. The park is used by students of The Winston School and by pet owners as an off-leash park. The City of Del Mar is working to fix the damage but it’s unclear how much the repairs will cost at this time. 522

DENVER -- A police body camera video leaked to Scripps station KMGH in Denver shows the son of Denver Mayor Michael Hancock using a slur against an Aurora police officer during a traffic stop.“My dad’s the mayor, you f---ing f--got,” Jordan Hancock is shown saying in the video clip.“Of Denver? Well you’re in Aurora,” the officer responds.“Guess what, I’m about to get you fired you f---ing b---h,” Hancock is heard saying later.The video clip sent to KMGH by an anonymous source is only about 20 seconds long and ends with 22-year-old Hancock driving away. KMGH requested the full video from Aurora police but the request was declined.KMGH has learned that after requesting a copy of Jordan Hancock’s ticket and the body camera video, the Aurora Police Department alerted the office of Denver’s mayor. APD said it notified Mayor Hancock's office as a “courtesy.”A traffic ticket issued to Jordan Hancock says he was driving 65 miles an hour in a 40 miles per hour zone. In the ticket, the officer wrote, “Attitude very poor-see video.”The ticket was issued by an Aurora police officer on Friday, March 23, 2018 near the intersection of East 40th Avenue and North Walden Street shortly before 8 a.m.Jordan Hancock made a mandatory court appearance Monday morning and agreed to pay a 0 fine. When asked by the judge why he was driving so fast, Hancock explained he was running late.After the court appearance, KMGH asked Jordan Hancock to explain what happened during the 20-second video clip. KMGH asked Hancock about his choice of language, his decision to say he was the mayor's son, and his threat to get the officer fired. DENVER – Police are investigating a homicide scene after three adults were found dead Thursday afternoon near a major Denver intersection.Police initially said they were investigating a death at the scene, but later tweeted that they were investigating a homicide involving three adults. A Denver police spokesperson confirmed all three people were dead.A news crew at the scene said police appeared to be searching the bushes near the RTD light rail and bus station. DEL MAR, Calif. (KGTV) - For the past five days, five shark sightings have been reported off North San Diego County beaches, Del Mar lifeguards tell 10News. A juvenile shark, about 5 feet long, was spotted Friday afternoon. It did not show signs of aggressive behavior, lifeguards said. The water was not cleared of swimmers and surfers. Del Mar’s shark sightings started Monday and have continued every day this week. Sighting locations include 15th and 29th streets, City of Del Mar officials reported. Drew Pierce, who went to Del Mar to avoid triple-digit heat in Temecula, was in the water Wednesday when he saw several 3-4 foot long sharks. They tend to eat smaller fish and pose no threat to people, Dewar said. Dewar recommends avoiding beaches at dusk and dawn, avoiding river mouths, and monitoring shark warning signs. Farther up the coast, two local surfers spotted multiple sharks near El Portal Beach in San Clemente Friday afternoon, City News Service reported. DALLAS (AP) — A white former Texas police officer was found guilty of murder on Tuesday for fatally shooting an unarmed black teenager last year as the boy left a house party in a car full of teenagers.Roy Oliver was fired from the Balch Springs Police Department days after the April 2017 shooting. Oliver killed 15-year-old Jordan Edwards after the then-officer fired into a moving car carrying five black teenagers leaving a local house party. Edwards was in the front passenger seat.Oliver testified during the Dallas County trial that he opened fire after seeing the car move toward his partner. He says he thought his partner was in danger. But his partner told jurors he didn't fear for his life and never felt the need to fire his weapon.The shooting launched the Dallas suburb of Balch Springs into a national conversation on issues of law enforcement and race. Experts said ahead of the trial that securing convictions against an officer was challenging, in part because criminal culpability in on-duty shootings is subjective and jurors are more inclined to believe police testimony.In closing arguments, defense attorneys told the jury they needed to evaluate the circumstances from Oliver's viewpoint and from what the former officer knew at the time. But prosecutors described Oliver as out of control and looking for a reason to kill. They argued that his firing into the car wasn't reasonable.The shooting came after Oliver and his partner, Tyler Gross, had broken up a large house party following a report of underage drinking. Both officers were inside the residence when they heard gunfire outside and responded. Authorities later determined the shots were fired near a nursing home in the area.Oliver retrieved his rifle and went toward Gross, who was ordering the car carrying Edwards to stop. Oliver testified that he saw the car back up and stop for a second before moving forward and going toward Gross.Testifying in his own defense, Oliver told the jury the car was about to hit his partner. Oliver said he felt he had no other option but to fire.Gross, however, testified that he did not fear for his life and never felt the need to fire his weapon.
