SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A distinctive pair of sneakers helped San Diego Police find a man suspected of threatening a Pacific Beach bar bouncer with a knife Tuesday.The man went to Open Bar on Mission Boulevard near Grand Avenue at 1 p.m. and said he was going to kill the employee, officers said.Police got a detailed description of the man, which included purple Air Jordan Nike shoes.An SDPD lieutenant who responded to the scene spotted the man - and his sneakers - and officers arrested him near Mission Boulevard and Pacific Beach Drive.Witnesses identified the suspect at the scene.During the search for the knife-wielding man, police said a drunk bar patron jumped on top of a patrol car and stomped on its roof. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A Descanso woman whose power was cut during last week's Red Flag warning was surprised to receive a utility estimate showing an increase in power use.Cheryl Erpelding's power was taken away for parts of both Oct. 30 and Oct. 31, when SDG&E was trying to prevent a wildfire from igniting and spreading. Still, she got an estimate from SDG&E showing that she used the most power during the parts of those two days when the power was on. "If you're going to email me how much I'm using, why don't you email me a better guess," Erpelding said. RELATED: Homeowners with solar heated about SDG&E proposal to raise minimum billErpelding's weekly estimate showed she used 31 kilowatt hours on Oct. 31, and 26 kilowatt hours on Oct. 30. On other days of the week, her usage ranged from 16 to 24 kilowatt hours.SDG&E says the reason for this is Erpelding is a solar customer. The estimate she received reflects her net usage, which usually reflects credit for her putting power back into the grid. That reduces her net usage significantly. During the public safety power shutoffs, she did not put power back into the grid, but still used power during parts of the day it was on. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A City Heights native is returning to San Diego as part of the Broadway tour of Miss Saigon.Jackie Nguyen is a member of the ensemble, but says this show has always had a special place in her heart."It was the very first musical that I saw, ever," says Nguyen.Getting the chance to perform in her home town is a thrill for Nguyen, who says about 20 family members and friends will be at each show throughout the weekend."I've always wanted to play the Civic Theater because this is where I first saw my big Broadway musicals in high school," she says. "It's a full circle moment for me."The show also has significance for her family, as Nguyen's mother is from Vietnam and has a similar story to the main character, Kim."When you are introduced to Kim at the beginning of the show, she's 17 and she meets and American GI. My mom, in the midst of the war, when she was 17, she also met an American GI. And they got married and had children from that. And eventually went to America," says Nguyen.That connection makes performing in Miss Saigon even more meaningful every time Nguyen steps on stage."Every night, i know that I am trying to give my family and my mom some type of honor in some way," she says. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A City Heights elementary school was placed on lockdown Wednesday morning following reports of gunfire in the area.San Diego Police responded to the call of shots fired near Colina del Sol Park at 5319 Orange Avenue just after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.Fay Elementary - located across the street from the park - was placed on a precautionary lockdown, according to police. The lockdown was lifted within an hour.Two individuals were detained following the reports, but police did not confirm whether they were associated with the shooting. Police did say they are searching for one more individual.Police recovered shell casings at the scene, but would not say how many were recovered. No injuries have been reported.SDPD officers were on the scene Wednesday afternoon investigating.  840
