(KGTV) — Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced billionaire financier accused of sex trafficking, died by suicide in his Lower Manhattan jail cell overnight Saturday, ABC News reports.Epstein, 66, was discovered dead inside a Manhattan Correctional Center jail cell Saturday at about 6:30 a.m., a statement from the Federal Bureau of Prisons read. Fire officials said they received a call about 10 minutes later that he was in cardiac arrest and transported him to New York Downtown Hospital, ABC reported.ABC News cited several law enforcement officials who say Epstein hanged himself.He had been on suicide watch since July 23 when he was found unresponsive in his cell. Bruises were found on his neck but at the time it was unclear if they were self-inflicted or from an assault, ABC News reported.Epstein was set to stand trial on federal charges for allegedly sexually abusing dozens of minor females at his properties in New York and Florida. Some of those charges date back to the early 2000s.He pleaded not guilty to the charges and faced up to 45 years in prison if convicted.Epstein's arrest in July sparked investigations into how authorities handled with his case when he faced similar charges in Florida more than a decade ago. A 20-year-old Shelby Township, Michigan man has been charged with making a terrorist threat against Lakeside Mall.Tyler Tindell was arraigned Monday and locked up on 0,000 bond.Police say they received credible word of the threat on Friday. They tracked Tindell down by Friday afternoon. He was arrested at his home and a gun was found.Police say he had sent text messages planning a mass shooting at Lakeside Mall.During the investigation, officers from the Sterling Heights Police Department were sent to provide additional security to the mall and surrounding community.“At no time was the safety of anybody at Lakeside Mall in jeopardy; this, in large part, was because of the communication between all law enforcement agencies involved in this case,” said Sterling Height Deputy Police Chief Mark Coil. 833

A 3-year-old suffered second-degree burns after falling into a small thermal feature at Yellowstone National Park.The National Park Service (NPS) says the child took off running from a trail before slipping and falling into the feature Friday morning. It happened near the Midway Geyser Basin.The child, who suffered burns to the lower body and back, was airlifted to the Burn Center at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.According to NPS, the ground in hydrothermal areas, like at Yellowstone, is fragile and thin. Just below the surface is scalding water.Visitors to Yellowstone are asked to always remain on boardwalks and trails. They’re also encouraged to exercise extreme caution around thermal features.This certainly isn’t the first time someone has been injured in a thermal area like this. This past May, NPS says another visitor, who illegally entered the park, fell into thermal feature at Old Faithful while taking photos.Similar instances have been reported in previous years as well. In 2016 and 2000, people actually died as a result of falling into hot springs, NPS says. 1099
