SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A San Diego elementary school teacher was arrested this week and accused of distributing child pornography.Authorities arrested 59-year-old David Weaks, a fifth-grade teacher at Rosa Parks Elementary School in City Heights, Thursday and charged with distributing child pornography of young girls, including a toddler, according to a complaint filed by the U.S. District Court, Southern District of California.According to documents, a U.S. Department of Homeland Security special agent was able to download two child pornography videos of young females from Weaks computer through peer-to-peer software.The IP address associated with the download was tracked to a residence in San Diego and a subscriber with the last name of Weaks, the complaint says.Authorities say a search of Weaks' residence and his computer revealed numerous files featuring child pornography.The complaint said Weaks admitted to obtaining and distributing child pornography through the file-sharing software over the internet. He also admitted to possessing similar materials on an external hard drive.Weaks is scheduled for a detention hearing on April 24. You talk to them and then you start singing and you just black out. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle while on Interstate 5 late Sunday.The pedestrian was on southbound I-5, just north of Cesar E Chavez Parkway, just before 11 p.m. when a vehicle struck and killed the person, according to the California Highway Patrol.Several vehicles hit the person after the initial crash, CHP added.CHP said it's unclear why the person was on the freeway and whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.I-5 was closed between Cesar Chavez Parkway and Logan Avenue while CHP investigators responded. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A Marine was honored Monday at Camp Pendleton for his bravery mid-September when he saved a choking baby.Private First Class Jonathan Lewellen was on leave after graduating boot camp before starting combat training. He was upgrading his phone at the Liberty Station Verizon store when he heard a mother screaming her son's name."She wasn’t hysterical but she was panicked," Verizon Store Manager Cecil Silva said. "He [Lewellen] looked and his instincts just kicked in, like he literally jumped over a desk we had, jumped over the railing, ran through the bushes and just attended to the baby."Lewellen asked the mother if he could help, then performed CPR, and scooped mucus out of the baby's throat."The baby was pretty pale, started getting a little blue-ish," Silva said he called 9-1-1 and was asked to stay on the line, saying several others calling couldn't hold a connection due to bad cell service."Once the ambulance was here they were just like, you’re lucky this guy was here," Silva said both parents were shaken from what happened. He added he has nieces and nephews of the same age and admired how Lewellen had the training and response to provide aide."That just shows, you never you never just turn that part of you off.
