KANSAS CITY, Kansas — A second company associated with Schlitterbahn has been named in a newly unsealed criminal indictment.Henry & Sons Construction is listed as a co-defendant in the murder case of 10 year old Caleb Schwab.The boy died on the Verruckt water slide in 2016.According to the indictment, Henry & Sons was the design and construction company for Verruckt.Reviews posted online by people who identify themselves as former employees raise safety concerns before the Schwab tragedy. On the job website Indeed.com, a person who identifies himself as a former welder for Henry & Sons submitted a February 2015 review for the company.The review claims management would ignore issues or "let them pass" like damaged work equipment.The welder also says managers wouldn't require a safety harness to work six feet off the ground and they "just wanted to get the job done no matter how risky it could be."Other review headlines include "Unsafe Working Environment", "Lack of Management Skills" and "Unorganized."At least one poster, however, gave the company five stars, calling it "an amazing place to work." The latest indictment states company owner Jeff Henry hired a man named John Hunsucker as a consultant for the operation and safety of Verruckt.But Hunsucker told investigators that while he could make suggestions, it was only Henry who made the decisions.The indictment further says Henry never asked Hunsucker to check if the water slide met industry safety standards, which the indictment claims in many ways it did not. 1587

Watt, a star defensive end for the Houston Texans, has offered to pay for the funerals of the victims of Friday's school shooting at Santa Fe High School, NFL.com reports.Ten people were killed in the shooting on Friday morning, and another 10 were injured. A suspect is in custody and has reportedly confessed to the shooting. He's being held without bond on capital murder charges.This wouldn't be the first time Watt has stepped up for the greater Houston community in the face of tragedy. When Hurricane Harvey devastated the region in 2017, Watt helped raise million in relief funds in just weeks.Watt was awarded the NFL's Walter Payton Award for his efforts, which is awarded to one player each year for excellence off the field.Watt's Texans play less than an hour from Santa Fe High School.Alex Hider is a writer for the E.W. (KGTV) - Wineries in the East County call themselves "hidden gems," offering San Diegans a chance to get away without having to travel as far as Temecula and other more well known wine producing areas.Granite Lion Cellars in Jamul grows 17 varietals. As they shift operations outside their tasting room, they are taking advantage of being in a wilderness area with a waterfall, trails to explore and picnic tables in the shade.They are family and dog friendly, and have contracted with a number of food trucks to offer food on site, as well as outdoor tastings in a more intimate setting.Miriam Valdez, Granite Lion Cellars' tasting room manager, said, "We are used to telling people about our wines, now we actually have to limit contact." While also struggling to sell more wine, Valdez added, "We are right now maybe 60-70 days out from harvest, and our warehouse is full, so the wine has to go somewhere."Sommelier David Whited said they're offering specials on cases of wine and wine club memberships, in an effort to move inventory.They're also breaking ground on a brand new barrel cave and tasting room in the hope that one day they'll be able to move back indoors.Granite Lion has retained and retrained their staff in order to stay in compliance with all of the sanitation and safety rules.They've also donated wine to the community -- to be turned into hand sanitizer. At one point, when a batch of wine didn't turn out as expected, Whited says five pallets were donated to the Mike Curfey Distillery to be turned into sanitizer for the San Diego Food Bank and first responders. JOSHUA TREE, Calif. (KGTV) - A San Bernardino County couple has been arrested after authorities said they kept their three children in unsanitary and unsafe conditions.Sheriff's Department deputies were conducting an area check Wednesday afternoon in the 7000 block of Sunfair Road when they located a trailer that appeared abandoned. A large rectangular box made of plywood was also located on the property.Upon inspection, deputies found there was no electricity or running water and several large holes, mounds of trash, and human feces on the property.Police said the parents, identified as Mona Kirk, 51, and Daniel Panico, 73, did not provide their three children, ages 11-, 13-, and 14-years-old, with enough food either.About 30-40 cats were also found roaming freely inside the trailer and on the property.Kirk and Panico were arrested and charged with willful cruelty to a child in lieu of 0,000 bail.The three children have been transported into the care of San Bernardino County Children and Family Services. 1061

KANSAS CITY, Mo. –- For two parents, welcoming three bundles of joy into the world last week was a one-in-a-million feeling. Statistically speaking, that’s not too far off. Identical triplets were born at Truman Medical Center Thursday to Nicole and Caleb Choge. Baby boys Ron, Elkanah, and Abishai were born just minutes apart and six weeks premature. By Sunday, the brothers were doing well under observation in the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit. According to doctors, it’s not uncommon for multiple births to come prematurely. What is uncommon is identical triplets. According to a study in the Journal of Biosocial Science, identical triplets occur only about 20 to 30 times per 1 million births. While the boys’ mother rested, new father Caleb Choge spoke with reporters Sunday. The couple, who have a 2-year-old son, was expecting another baby but were surprised when they saw the sonogram. “My wife and I and our son prayed for another child,” he said. “And then, I like to say, God answered everybody’s prayer: one, two and three.”Until recently, the couple lived in Kenya, Caleb Choge’s home country. They moved back to the Kansas City area to be closer to Nicole Choge’s family.   1253
