Attorney General William Barr has agreed to go before the House Judiciary Committee on March 31 to respond to allegations that the Department of Justice is making decisions that are politically influenced. The House Judiciary Committee wants to question Barr on three incidents from this week that it found questionable. One was the DOJ's decision to overrule prosecutors' recommended sentence of Trump ally Roger Stone. Stone was convicted on charges of lying to Congress, tampering with a witness and obstructing a House investigation. On Monday, the prosecution asked the judge for a 7-9 year sentence of Stone. But following tweets from the president, Barr overruled the prosecutors, stating that the sentencing guidelines prosecutors used were too harsh."This is a horrible and very unfair situation. The real crimes were on the other side, as nothing happens to them. Cannot allow this miscarriage of justice!” Trump tweeted on Tuesday. A second incident the committee is investigating is on Barr stating publicly that he has opened a "channel" for President Donald Trump's attorney Rudolph Giuliani to deliver information to the DOJ involving presidential candidate Joe Biden and his son Hunter. Giuliani has openly said that he is looking for information from the Ukrainian government on whether the former vice president and his son conducted any wrongdoing when Joe Biden pushed for the ouster of a Ukrainian prosecutor. The third is the decision to pull the nomination of Jessie Liu, who is a U.S. Attorney who originally was nominated for a post in the Treasury Department. Liu oversaw the office that tried the prosecutions of several Trump allies, including Stone and former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn. Cisco says he's come to terms with what he did, but he worries about leaving his fiancé, Susie. "At first, I think neither one of us really realized that, you know, prison was going to happen,” Cisco says. Cisco hired a former federal prisoner turned prison coach to help him learn the ropes. “I started kind of looking online, you know, trying to find some sort of resource, something to help me understand what I was going through, what was going to happen,” Cisco says. After finding the prison coach, Justin, on YouTube, Cisco paid ,000 for the coach’s help. He learned everything from how to act, how to avoid the TV room, because that's where fights can break out, and how to avoid getting too friendly with corrections officers so that other inmates don’t consider you a snitch. “My routine will be, like, lay low, stay under the radar,” Cisco says. While in prison, Cisco says he plans to focus on the simple things. “One thing Justin helped me understand and recognize is that there is an end date to this,” Cisco says.As his day to report to prison gets closer, Cisco says he'll head there better prepared and ready to become a better person and an even better husband to Susie. 1776

BERLIN, Germany – The U.S. Air Force is investigating the death of two servicemen who died at a base in Germany last week.Airman 1st Class Xavier Leaphart and Airman 1st Class Aziess Whitehurst were found unresponsive in a dormitory room at Spangdahlem Air Base in western Germany at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday. The men, both aged 20, were pronounced dead shortly afterward. Both deceased Airmen were assigned to the 52nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, under the 52nd Fighter Wing.Leaphart is survived by his father, Malik Muhammad, and mother, Pamela Leaphart. Whitehurst is survived by his father and mother, Davin and Maria Whitehurst. The Associated Press reports that Leaphart was from Georgia and Whitehurst was from Arizona.In a statement Sunday, base commander Col. David Epperson expressed his condolences to the men’s loved ones.“It is always very difficult to lose valued members of our team,” said Col. Epperson. “Our sincerest and heartfelt condolences go out to the friends and families that have been affected by this tragedy.”An Air Force spokeswoman said more information will be released as it becomes available. 1141
