President Donald Trump on Tuesday repeated his threat to veto the National Defense Authorization Act if Congress does not change it the way he wants; including adding language that would change Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act that deals with social media companies, a reduction in troop levels around the world, and the president wants language calling for the renaming of some military bases removed. In a tweet, the president said “I hope House Republicans will vote against the very weak National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which I will VETO. Must include a termination of Section 230 (for National Security purposes), preserve our National Monuments, & allow for 5G & troop reductions in foreign lands!” 743

President Donald Trump on Thursday morning accepted the appreciation of three UCLA basketball players accused of shoplifting in China, offering some fatherly advice while also thanking his Chinese counterpart."To the three UCLA basketball players I say: You're welcome, go out and give a big Thank You to President Xi Jinping of China who made your release possible and, HAVE A GREAT LIFE! Be careful, there are many pitfalls on the long and winding road of life!" he said in a series of tweets.Trump earlier had sought the gratitude of the three basketball players -- Cody Riley, LiAngelo Ball and Jalen Hill -- who were arrested last week on suspicion of stealing sunglasses from a Louis Vuitton store while their team was in the Chinese city of Hangzhou. The President had said he personally asked Xi to intervene in the case. 837

POWAY, Calif. (KGTV) - The Poway Unified School District sent parents an email over the weekend on their action plan after a water boil advisory was issued."My boys and I have had the discussion of the importance of safety," Mother and Senior Management Analyst of Poway Public Works Jessica Parks said of her twin high schoolers. President Donald Trump is "somewhat embarrassed" by special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election, White House chief of staff John Kelly says.In an interview on NPR's "Morning Edition" that was released late Thursday, Kelly was asked whether the special counsel's probe leaves a cloud hanging over the White House."It may not be a cloud, but certainly the President is somewhat embarrassed, frankly," Kelly said.Kelly also seemed to suggest that the Russia investigation affects Trump's relationship with other world leaders."When world leaders come in -- you know Bibi Netanyahu who was here and who's under investigation himself -- and it's like you walk in and you know the first couple of minutes of every conversation might revolve around that kind of thing," Kelly said, using the nickname for the Israeli Prime Minister who is under investigation in two separate criminal probes. When asked if he shares the President's opinion that the Mueller probe is a "witch hunt," Kelly said, "Something that has gone on this long without any real meat on the bone, it suggests to me that there is nothing there, relative to our President."A retired four-star Marine general, Kelly took over as Trump's chief of staff for Reince Priebus last July, hoping to bring order to a chaotic White House. But he has seen his influence diminish in recent months as Trump has started to bypass Kelly."In retrospect, I wish I had been here from day one," Kelly told NPR. "I think in some cases, in terms of staffing or serving the President, that first six months was pretty chaotic and there were people some people hired that maybe shouldn't have hired some people." 1703

President Donald Trump said Friday that he canceled a US military parade planned for Veterans Day weekend, blaming Washington city officials for inflating costs amid reports that indicated the event's price tag had soared over initial estimates."The local politicians who run Washington, D.C. (poorly) know a windfall when they see it. When asked to give us a price for holding a great celebratory military parade, they wanted a number so ridiculously high that I cancelled it," Trump tweeted Friday morning. The President said he will instead "attend the big parade already scheduled at Andrews Air Force Base on a different date, (and) go to the Paris parade, celebrating the end of the War, on November 11th."He added, "Maybe we will do something next year in D.C. when the cost comes WAY DOWN. Now we can buy some more jet fighters!"CNN has reached out to the Washington, DC, mayor's office for response.  921
