INDIANAPOLIS -- More than a dozen protesters were arrested Monday afternoon after they blocked a busy downtown Indianapolis street during rush hour. The group was demonstrating as part of the "Poor People's Campaign" and started at Monument Circle before making their way to the an area outside of the Statehouse. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police were called to the scene after reports of about 50 people blocking the road. Responding officers tried to talk to the protesters and gave them multiple warnings that if they did not leave the street they would be arrested. Police say they spoke to the protesters individually and tried to get them to move, but after being left with no alternative they took five women and nine men into custody. All 14 were arrested for obstruction of traffic. The group claims they were protesting against poverty, racism and other important issues.  925

InfoWars, a far-right media organization run by Alex Jones and known for peddling unfounded conspiracy theories, is on thin ice with YouTube after it posted a video that portrayed the survivors of the Parkland school shooting as actors.The Alex Jones Channel, Infowar's biggest YouTube account, received one strike for that video, a source with knowledge of the account told CNN. YouTube's community guidelines say if an account receives three strikes in three months, the account is terminated.That video focused on David Hogg, a strong voice among survivors of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. The attention has given him a powerful platform -- but it has also made him the subject of demonstrably false conspiracy theories that claim he's so skilled as a public speaker that he must be a paid actor.  842

Since the 40s, the song has been recorded by dozens of popular artists. WDOK Christmas 102.1 in Cleveland, Ohio cited complaints by listeners in pulling the song from its airwaves last week. Denver's KOSI-FM also stopped playing the song but has since recanted, also citing listener feedback. “We value the opinion of all our listeners and appreciate the feedback we received,” said KOSI 101.1 Program Director, Jim Lawson in a media release. “Respondents voted 95 percent in favor of us keeping the song. In his first comments since the FBI raid on his home and office, Michael Cohen said the FBI agents "were extremely professional, courteous and respectful."The comments contrast with President Donald Trump who complained Monday that agents "broke into the office of one of my personal attorneys.""I am unhappy to have my personal residence and office raided. But I will tell you that members of the FBI that conducted the search and seizure were all extremely professional, courteous and respectful. And I thanked them at the conclusion," Cohen said in a phone conversation on Tuesday with CNN.Asked if he was worried, Cohen said; "I would be lying to you if I told that I am not. Do I need this in my life? No. Do I want to be involved in this? INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A U.S. senator from Indiana wants to make violence or attempted violence against police officers a federal crime.Sen. Mike Braun, R-Indiana, signed on to the Protect and Serve Act, which would make violence or attempted violence to local, state, and federal law enforcement officers a federal crime.The bill was introduced Thursday by Sen. Thom Tillis, R-NC.The act would make violators of serious bodily injury or attempted serious bodily injury subject to prison for up to 10 years. If the offense involves murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, or attempted kidnapping, the offender could receive a life sentence.“Criminals who target police officers should pay the highest penalty possible,” Braun said. “Our brave men and women in law enforcement put their lives on the line every day so we can live in safety, and the cowards who seek to harm them need to be sent a clear message: Target police, and you will pay.”The bill comes after two Los Angeles police officers were ambushed and shot over the weekend.The act has been endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police, Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association, and the National Association of Police Organizations.A similar bill passed the House in 2018.This story was first reported by Matt McKinney at WRTV in Indianapolis, Indiana. 1320
