A California surgeon who had been accused of drugging and raping two women was charged with five more cases Wednesday, bringing the total number of alleged victims to seven.Grant Robicheaux, 38, pleaded not guilty to the charges. His girlfriend, Cerissa Riley, 31, was also charged in three additional cases, and pleaded not guilty."We unequivocally deny all allegations of nonconsensual sex and absolutely deny any allegations that we have ever secretly drugged anyone for the purpose of having sex with them," the couple said in a statement. They said they passed polygraph tests and knew about the investigation since January. "We didn't flee, we didn't move, and we didn't go into hiding. ... A federal judge on Monday dismissed a lawsuit that claimed President Donald Trump illegally benefits from his Washington hotel and that same hotel hurts restaurants that are also near the White House. The lawsuit was brought forward in 2017 by Cork Wine Bar, a restaurant in Washington that said it suffered because lobbyists and other political-minded customers chose to host fundraisers, events and dinners at the Trump International Hotel rather than at its business. But Judge Richard Leon of the DC District Court wrote in his opinion Monday that Cork couldn't claim a competitive disadvantage simply because of a public figure's fame."Cork does not, for example, accuse (the hotel) or President Trump of acting to dissuade potential customers from patronizing Cork or somehow obstructing entry to Cork's location," Leon wrote. If he had ruled in the restaurant's favor, Leon wrote, "I would be foreclosing all manner of prominent people—from pop singers to celebrity chefs to professional athletes—from taking equity in the companies they promote. ... This I cannot do!"While the Trump International Hotel is currently run by a trust administered by the President's family members, it remains at the center of two other major lawsuits that allege Trump has accepted illegal payments through the business.Earlier this month, a federal judge denied Trump's appeal to pause discovery in a lawsuit brought by the governments of Washington, DC, and Maryland that alleges he violated the constitutional clause that prohibits gifts and advantages from foreign and domestic governments. The lawsuit raises the possibility that transactions between the Trump International Hotel and foreign dignitaries could be made public. 1755

A fourth-grade teacher in Florida was arrested on Saturday after deputies found a 4-year-old in the woman's custody wandering alone outside, the Orlando Sentinel reported. The Polk County, Florida Sheriff's Office said that the boy was discovered at 7:30 a.m. Saturday crying and asking for help. The boy was only wearing a t-shirt and underwear. The teacher, 26-year-old Marsha Dolce, claimed she was helping a friend with a broken down car when she left the child at home. But deputies found marijuana and a grinder on the kitchen counter, the Sentinel reported. When deputies pressed Dolce, she admitted that she had lied, and visited someone she knew had marijuana while the boy was sleeping. Dolce was charged with negligent child abuse, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia."This is not what we expect from a person in a position of public trust,” Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said in a statement to the Sentinel. “To think about this poor scared child crying in the street, not knowing where mom was — it is just a shame and should not have happened."Dolce was reportedly only a teacher for three months before her arrest.  1209

A federal court has ruled that President Donald Trump cannot constitutionally block his followers in Twitter.Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald of the US district court in the Southern District of New York ruled that public officials may not block a person from his Twitter account based on the that person's political views — and Trump's position as President had no bearing on the case. The case was brought by Columbia University's Knight First Amendment Institute and filed against President Trump, former White House communications director Hope Hicks, press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and social media director Dan Scavino.More on this as it develops. 677
