A nearly 7-hour long standoff which began with six officers getting shot while serving a warrant has to an end late Wednesday evening, Philadelphia Police confirmed. As of early Thursday morning, a SWAT unit was in the process of clearing th scene.Police spokesman Eric Gripp said that the six officers were released from the hospital by late Wednesday evening. An officer who was injured in an accident while responding to the scene remains hospitalized. Gripp said that law enforcement attempted to make contact with the suspect who was barricaded throughout the evening. Officials from ATF confirmed were on the scene, assisting local police. Philadelphia Police requested the media not air live helicopter footage of the officers' tactical positions. Officers held those positions all evening despite spurts of gunfire.Ross told reporters that officers attempted to serve a warrant at a residence near Temple University around 4:30 p.m. Officers reached the kitchen of the residence when the suspect began shooting at officers. Ross said that officers dove through windows and took cover to avoid the gunfire. Following the shooting, officers retreated as dozens of other units responded. Temple University also was in a lockdown.Two officers who were trapped in the residence for several hours were freed, Gripp confirmed. American rock climber Brad Gobright has died after a fall in northern Mexico.The incident happened Wednesday at Sendero Luminoso in El Potrero Chico, the nation's civil protection agency said. Gobright, 31, of Orange County, California, was with a climbing partner when he fell nearly 985 feet.Rescuers retrieved his body Thursday and treated his climbing partner, Aidan Jacobson, for injuries to his ankle and other parts of his body.A fellow climber and a friend of the partner said Jacobson told him their rope got stuck, causing them to both fall 20-30 feet to the ledge below.Jacobson crashed into a bush, which broke his fall and stopped him from tumbling farther. "It pretty much saved his life," the friend, Ryan Borys, said. Jacobson told him he saw Gobright fall past him and over the ledge.The State Department confirmed Gobright's death in Mexico. "We offer our sincerest condolences to his family on their loss. We are closely monitoring local authorities' investigation and are providing all appropriate consular assistance. A Tulsa, Oklahoma, woman is urging brides to use more caution when selecting a wedding photographer than she did. "I was planning this since I was a little girl and it turned out just the way I wanted it and I have no pictures," Natalie Barney said. Barney was on a tight budget for her big day. "I just wanted a small wedding, but it had to be big enough for everyone to see my pink dress," Barney said.When she saw an advertisement for an "affordable" photographer on Facebook, she clicked on it. The bride-to-be messaged April Keller, owner of Queen Bee Photography - Stillwater, who she said quoted her 0 for 100 photos. "I saw her pictures on Facebook and they looked good," Barney said. It was a photo of a bride in her wedding dress surrounded by her bridesmaid in pink dresses that caught her eye. Queen Bee's post said "Wedding Samples" and showed several other stunning wedding photos. An online image search found the photos were on Pinterest and linked back to websites for designers, like Hayley Paige and Jenny Yoo. Barney did not know that at the time she booked.She said she met up with Keller before the wedding and provided her with a list of about 40 photos she wanted, including shots with her bridesmaids, close family, of her cake and so on. Andrew Cuomo is ordering all workers in non-essential businesses in the state to stay home to help combat the spread of COVID-19, the illness caused by the new coronavirus. The mandate will exclude pharmacies, grocery stores and other essential industries, according to Cuomo.The governor also announced that he's banning gatherings statewide. Non-essential gatherings of individuals of any size or for any reason are canceled or postponed. "First rule, only essential businesses will be functioning. People can work at home, but only essential businesses can have workers commuting to the job or on the job. Second rule, remain indoors to the greatest extent to protect physical and mental health," Cuomo said during a press conference.Cuomo said the state will implement a 90-day moratorium on evictions for residential and commercial tenants. "We will do all we can to help those financially suffering because of the #COVID19 pandemic," he tweeted.The governor also announced "Matilda's Law" that is designed to protect New Yorkers who are 70 years old or up and those with compromised immune systems. Cuomo will sign an executive order over the mandates on Friday. The moves come as Cuomo announced nearly 3,000 new COVID-19 cases overnight, bringing the state's total cases to 7,102 as of Friday.
