(KGTV) - A man was hit by a train and killed Tuesday night near Surfrider Way and North Cleveland Street in Oceanside just before 8 p.m. The San Diego County Sheriff's Department told 10News the pedestrian was declared dead at the scene.At 8 p.m., Metrolink Orange County tweeted that the Amtrak 591 train hit a person on the tracks. They then tweeted that the tracks were closed and they were working on alternate transportation for passengers.  497

(KGTV) - A North County mom is giving thanks as she searches for the "roadside angels" who came to her family's side after a car crash.Aleisha Sargent was behind the wheel with her two kids — 10-year-old Calli and her 7-year-old brother Tyson — in the middle row of the van last Thursday. They stopped at the intersection of Ridge Road and Lake Blvd. when Sargent says her light turned green, a car ran a red light and broadsided her."Just taking my two youngest children to school around 7:30 that morning," said Sargent. "Spun in the middle of the intersection, almost 180 degrees ... My glasses flew off. Couldn't see my kids, which was scary. Calli was asking what was happening. Tyson was saying his head hurt," said Sargent.As they sat in the van, a woman appeared next to them."She asked if we were okay, opened the door and helped me and my children to the side of the road, where we sat on the sidewalk. She called 911 ... OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) -- A medical examiner’s report gives new details about an Oceanside plane crash in January. According to the report, 58-year-old Raymond Petty Jr. had cocaine and marijuana in his system at the time of the crash. Initial reports indicated that Petty was the pilot, but the Oceanside Police Department said it was possible to fly the plane from either seat. The plane crashed into a hillside off State Route 76 near Canyon Drive in late January. Heavy fog in the area blanketed the crash site, preventing it from being spotted for several hours. One of the fiercest rivalries in sport -- the New York Yankees versus the Boston Red Sox -- is on the move and heading to London as Major League Baseball flies across the Atlantic to broaden its global reach.MLB announced Tuesday that the Yankees and Red Sox will play two regular-season games at the London Stadium -- which played host to the athletics and opening and closing ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympics -- on June 29 and 30, 2019.The Red Sox will be the home team for the two-game series, the first MLB games to be played in Europe.But it will not be the first time regular-season MLB matches will have been played outside the US, with ties already having been staged in Mexico, Japan, Puerto Rico and Australia.It has already been announced that Oakland and Seattle will play next season's opener at the Tokyo Dome on March 20-21.As part of the two-year deal another series will be played in London in 2020.
