(KGTV) — One person is dead after a fire tore through an East County home early Saturday.The fire broke out just before 3 a.m. at a residence located on Demona Place in Spring Valley. Fire fighters responded and were told by a neighbor that a 50-year-old man may still be inside the home. San Diego Sheriff's deputies tried to make contact with anyone inside, but nobody answered.Crews were able to force their way into the residence and begin extinguishing the fire, which had fully engulfed the home.One man was found inside the home and pulled from the living room area.SDSO says the man's injuries were unknown, but he likely suffered from smoke inhalation. He was taken to UCSD Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.Bomb Arson investigated were requested to the scene, but the origin and cause of the blaze were not known Saturday. 873

(KGTV) - Seventeen homes in Spring Valley were without water Friday night, after a water main break.The homes were mostly along Rothgard Road, according to officials with the Helix Water District.An 8-inch water main broke near Harmony Lane and Cristobal Drive around 3:30 p.m. Crews turned off the water before 4 p.m. to begin repairs.There was a water truck brought out for families impacted by the water shut off.Crews expect to have repairs completed, and the water turned on again by the Saturday morning. 540

SPRING VALLEY (KGTV) - San Diego County Sheriff's Department deputies are investigating a Spring Valley stabbing that left one man dead and a woman injured.Deputies responded to calls about a stabbing just before midnight Friday at an apartment complex at 3560 James Circle, said Lt. Thomas Seiver of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.First responders rushed a man to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival, Seiver said.
