Samuel and Ronan Peterson will have an interesting story to tell for the rest of their lives, thanks to Daylight Saving Time.The infant twins — born overnight on Nov. 6, 2016 — have a strange twist to their ages because of the time change.According to Cape Cod Healthcare in Massachusetts, Ronan is the older twin despite being born 31 minutes after Samuel.How does that work?According to hospital officials, Samuel was born at 1:39 a.m. Eastern and when his twin Ronan was born 31 minutes later, the clock had reset to 1:10 a.m., instead of being 2:10 a.m., because Daylight Saving Time had come to an end.So, despite technically being 31 minutes younger, Ronan's official time of birth is listed as 29 minutes earlier than Samuel's.One of the hospital's maternity nurses, who has 40 years on the job, said she'd never seen anything like it.Seth Peterson, the boys' father, figured something strange was going to happen due to his wife Emily giving birth on the night of Daylight Saving Time's end."I said earlier that night that they were either going to be born on two different days or the time change was going to come into play," he said, according to Cape Cod Healthcare.Clint Davis is a reporter for the Scripps National Desk. SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — A teenager was hospitalized after he was shot by a police officer in Salt Lake City Friday night.According to Salt Lake City police Sgt. Keith Horrocks, officers were dispatched to the area of 500 South and Navajo Street just after 10 p.m. on reports of a "juvenile" — police did not release his exact age — having a mental health episode and threatening people with a weapon.Police say the boy fled on foot when officers arrived, and one officer shot him.Officers administered aid until medical personnel arrived and transported the boy to a local hospital in serious condition.Wesley Barton, who said he is the boy's brother, tweeted that he is 13 years old and is in stable condition.An officer-involved critical incident protocol investigation has been launched, which includes an investigation conducted by local departments other than Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD). SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KGTV) -- California will have the highest gas tax in the nation after an upcoming increase beginning July 1, according to figures by the Tax Foundation. Beginning July 1, California’s gas tax will increase by nearly six cents. Currently, the tax is 55.2 cents per gallon. When the additional tax kicks in, that figure will jump to more than 60 cents in taxes per gallon. Currently, the highest gas tax in the nation is in Pennsylvania at 58.7 cents. Cities across the U.S. still may be trying to deck the halls, but a COVID-19 Christmas just looks and feels different.For people of faith, a season full of worship and togetherness will be missed."They do feel isolated," said GlenRoy Watson, a bishop with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.Watson’s congregation is made up of about 100 families."Normally at Christmas, we'd eat dinner and hang out and have a Christmas presentation," he said.This year, religious celebrations need to be held at home, but he had an idea."I'm just hoping that everyone will learn a little bit more about each one another and just continue to feel united," Watson said.He asked all families in his congregation to make a home video about their traditions or fond holiday memories to share with each other."It will be kind of like a mini movie," he said."For our Christmas tradition we read the story of Jesus Christ," congregation member Denise Cordero said as she sat with her young daughter by their Christmas tree and spoke to her iPhone camera.For church piano player VerLynn Brink, playing Christmas hymns for everyone at her church is what she will miss most."This is one of my favorite memories of Christmas," she said as she recorded a video on her phone while playing her piano.
