Users reported brief outages Monday morning with several Google-owned web services like Gmail and YouTube.According to Down Detector, a crowdsourced website where users report an outage of websites and other telecommunications issues, there was a spike in outages on several Google productivity clients like Gmail, Google Hangouts, Google Classroom and Google Drive at about 7 a.m. ET on Monday morning.As of about 7:45 a.m. ET, it appeared that many of those services had been restored.The issues with Google productivity tools came at a time when millions are relying on them to work or attend class remotely as the country continues to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.Users reported that YouTube, which is owned by Google, also experienced an outage, as well as other YouTube services like YouTube TV and YouTube Music.It's currently unclear what caused the outages.This story is breaking and will be updated. 920

Two brothers who threatened to stop cooperating with prosecutors in the case against actor Jussie Smollett have changed their mind. In a statement issued Thursday, an attorney representing Abimbola and Olabinjo Osundairo, said that two who have admitted to helping Smollett stage a racist and homophobic attack against the Black are ready to testify because a gun that went missing after police found it in their home had been found. Smollet is charged with lying to police about the “attack” that authorities say the actor staged to gain publicity for his career. The actor has maintained his innocence.Smollett's charges were filed by special prosecutor Dan Webb, who was appointed to the case after Smollett originally had his charges dropped by the Cook County State’s Attorney Office .The prosecutor's announcement of dropping the charges last year drew ire from Chicago Police and outgoing Mayor Rahm Emanuel.Smollett allegedly filled a false police report, when he told officers that two attackers shouted racial and homophobic slurs at him.The Osundairos were originally arrested for the alleged attack, but were later cleared of charges after police claimed that Smollett paid the men to stage the attack. 1222

TRUCKEE, California — A furry four-legged visitor has been caught on camera entering a law enforcement facility.The California Highway Patrol says a black bear wandered into their Donner Pass Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility on the night of November 17.It didn't appear the furry fella needed much help either. The bear easily stands on its hind legs to open the door and then reverts back to all fours as it enters to apparently inspect the facilities vending machines.Donner Pass shared the video of the 'breaking and entering' on their Facebook page.    586

TROY, Mich. — A man from Warren who spent months fighting COVID-19 was finally released from the hospital.Zahid Raza was released Friday from Beaumont Hospital, where he'd been fighting COVID-19 since March.He said he still has lasting effects like wheezing, and because of the virus, he's also having problems with his kidneys.Zahid went into Beaumont Hospital in Troy on March 30 because he couldn't breathe. He said one of his last memories was hearing medical staff say they were using the last available ventilator on him.He spent the next several weeks in a coma — even his 65th birthday. Two named storms are barreling toward two states right now, threatening to bring strong winds and heavy rains to communities already dealing with Covid-19 health concerns.Tropical Storm Hanna formed in the Gulf of Mexico and is now heading toward southern Texas.
