The state reported Friday that nearly 110,000 San Diegans worked in restaurants in November before the latest shutdown order took effect.But this week, a San Diego Superior Court judge gave restaurants the green light to serve on-site.El Cruce 241 is still outdoor only, but other restaurants are now serving inside, which had been disallowed even before this latest shutdown.Little Italy's Nolita Hall will reopen for dinner Friday, outdoors and inside with its Plexiglas-separated tables.“Just being back to a full indoor/outdoor dining allows us to get to our full schedule that we had prior to the shutdown, which obviously is going to help everybody pay their bills and have some type of Merry Christmas,” said Dean Trombino, the restaurant’s prep lead.But the opportunity to stay open could be short-lived, with the state already appealing the ruling.“It could happen and hopefully it won't because it's very mentally draining when you have to consider not working again and where your next paycheck is coming from,” Trombino said.For now, however, the doors are open and the tables are waiting. 1821

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Police are searching for a man who reportedly tried to stop a woman from leaving a locker room at a clinical training facility.According to police, the man entered the women’s locker room at the UCSD Clinical Training Facility around 11:15 a.m. on August 20.Police say the man walked in as the victim was using the restroom. The woman tried to leave, but the suspect blocked her, asking “don’t you want this,” gesturing to his body, police say.The man then left the bathroom before walking back inside and blocking the victim’s exit once again. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Ranked seventh in the state, an Oceanside High School wrestler makes daily sacrifices to be an elite athlete. But in a recent tournament, Shane Hansen put sportsmanship above being number one. After four matches, Hansen made it to the finals in the La Costa Canyon tournament. However, the final match was getting away from him. "It was the third period, the last period, I was down 12-3, I believe, we went out of bounds, and he ended up dislocating his shoulder," said Hansen. RELATED: Community helps man devoted to keeping park cleanHansen's opponent was not able to recover in the injury time allotted and was therefore forced to default match, meaning Hansen took first place. "I felt pretty bad because obviously, he was winning that match, and it wasn't my match to win."Hansen tried to forfeit himself from the match but was not allowed. "When he came up to me and was like, I want to trade my medal, I want to trade my medal, I was just kind of taken aback that in the moment, so quickly, he was wanting to do that," said Hansen's coach, Dustin Long. During the award ceremony, Hansen gave his gold medal to his opponent in exchange for the silver medal. Hansen held up two fingers representing second place in the podium photo, a symbolic gesture to his injured opponent. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego County has served Pacers Showgirls International with a cease and desist order in violation of health orders days after San Diego Padres outfielder Tommy Pham was stabbed outside the strip club.The county's letter says the Midway District strip club was allowing "live entertainment," like exotic dancing, "in violation of the Order of the State Health Officer and County Order of the Health Officer and Emergency Regulations."Under the county's current tier for California's pandemic guidance, San Diego County restaurants are allowed to operate outdoor in-person dining and indoor in-person dining at 25% capacity, but live entertainment is not allowed.The county's letter says if the strip club doesn't suspend its entertainment, it can receive a misdemeanor citation and ,000 fine for each violation. The facility could be ordered to close as well.The order says the violations were reported after Pham was stabbed in the parking lot outside the strip club on Sunday night.San Diego Police said Pham was involved in an altercation. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Police are searching for the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run in Mountain View last month.Police say 81-year-old Ruben Mendez was walking in a crosswalk at the intersection of South 45th St. and Logan Ave. on June 30 just before 7:30 p.m. An unknown, silver-colored vehicle was turning left onto Logan Ave. when it collided with Mendez. The vehicle then headed eastbound in the 4700 block of Logan Ave., police say.The vehicle did not stop to check on Mendez before fleeing the scene, police added.Mendez sustained major injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. On July 1, he died of his injuries.Investigators are asking anyone with information on the crash or suspected vehicle involved to call SDPD’s Traffic Division at 858-495-7807 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477. 818
