SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police have released pictures of a man accused of shooting and killing a 27-year-old man in the Midway District in late February.Police say Ernesto Castallenos Martinez, 41, shot and killed Alexander Mazin in a parking lot behind the 24 Hour Fitness on the 3600 block of Midway Drive.Following the shooting, police were led to the intersection of 30th Street and Upas Street where an hours-long standoff took place.RELATED: Police identify Midway District shooting victim, suspect of North Park standoff?After SWAT teams entered an apartment in the area, they didn’t find Martinez. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — One person is dead after his SUV careened off Interstate 5 near Pacific Beach Tuessday.A driver was traveling on northbound I-5 near Garnet Ave. just before 2 p.m. when a witness tells 10News the white Toyota RAV 4's passenger-side wheels became caught on the freeway guardrail. As the vehicle continued it fell off I-5, traveled down an embankment, and landed on its top on Garnet Ave. below the freeway. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are asking for the public’s help identifying several suspects they say robbed a man before threatening him with a gun.The robbery happened on August 11 around 5:24 p.m. near the Forever 21 at Fashion Valley Mall.Police say the two suspects approached a 27-year-old and asked to use his iPhone before grabbing it and running away.When the victim ran after both men, the second suspect pulled a gun out of his waistband and told the victim he “did not want any of this.”RELATED: 0,000 stolen cello returned to ownerFearing he would be shot, the victim stopped chasing the suspects, who were last seen running toward Friars Road. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are searching for a homeless man a Mission Valley father says tried dragging his daughter into bushes before she was able to escape.Chris Gilbert says his 11-year-old daughter went to check the mail Saturday around 2 p.m. on the 5900 block of Caminito Deporte when the incident happened.After walking across the street to check the mail, Gilbert says his daughter felt hands on her shoulders.RELATED: San Diego Homelessness Czar to go on leave to open Mormon temple"She thought it was me, sneaking up playing a game,” Gilbert said.Then, Gilbert says, the man grabbed the 11-year-old by the neck and started dragging her toward some bushes.“She told me he put his hands on her shoulders from behind and was holding her, turned around and kicked him in the shin, got loose and ran into the house and found me upstairs.”That’s when Gilbert ran downstairs to confront the homeless man, hitting him in the shoulder as a warning.RELATED: Oceanside residents demand solution to homelessness issue“I said, ‘you need to get out of here,’ then he started hitting me.”Gilbert’s daughter describes the man as six foot, two inches tall, between the ages of 40 to 45 with thick glasses.
