Men may have a harder time maintaining friendships during the pandemic.Experts say it’s because social distancing guidelines have forced men out of their normal ways of communicating.“Men tend to construct their friendships on a shoulder-to-shoulder basis and women tend to use a face-to-face basis, so guys will get together and do things, like sports, going to the sports bar, activities,” said University of Maryland Professor Geoffrey Greif, author of the book “Buddy System: Understanding Male Friendships.”Greif says it's rare for men to reach out to each other just to talk. Men tend to be more cautious about how much they share.They'll also only ask to do something together so many times before the invitation is returned.“We're just not socialized to feel comfortable. We don't want to seem like we are stalking another guy for a friendship. "But with virtual schooling, she has one at least every week,” said Billings. “I definitely know it affects her concentration.”Trisha Rowe’s 8-year-old son, Vedder, is enduring the same battle."He will come up to me and say, 'mom, my head hurts here.' Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer announced that a citywide curfew will be extended through the weekend as unrest in the city reignited on Wednesday.The demonstrations were sparked by a grand jury announcement that charges would not be filed against the two officers who shot and killed Breonna Taylor during a March raid.The curfew will continue from 9 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. every day through Monday. The curfew does not apply to people commuting to work, house of worship for services or seeking medical attention for themselves or others.The city has also closed some of the city’s downtown government facilities through Monday morning.On Wednesday, 127 arrests were tied to demonstrations in the city. Amid the unrest, two Louisville Metro Police officers were wounded by a gunman. A suspect, Larynzo Johnson, was arrested on Wednesday.
