WASHINGTON, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- U.S. President Barack Obama will visit China in mid-November in a four-nation Asia trip from Nov. 12 to 19 which will also take him to Japan, Singapore and the Republic of Korea, the White House said on Wednesday.     Obama is due to be in Japan on Nov. 12-13. Following his visit to Tokyo, Obama will attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Singapore before heading to China and South Korea, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs told reporters. BEIJING, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- China's top legislator Wu Bangguo met here Monday with Speaker Luka Bebic of the Croatian Assembly, vowing to facilitate closer parliamentary exchanges and cooperation between both countries.     "China highly values its relations with Crotia, and regards the country as a reliable good friend and partner in southeast Europe," Wu told Bebic in Beijing. He vowed joint efforts with the country to cement bilateral exchanges in all fields to build better future for both sides. Wu, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), hailed the progress of bilateral ties since the forging of diplomatic ties 17 years ago, citing frequent high-level visits, remarkable trade cooperation and increasing exchanges in cultural, technological and educational areas. BEIJING, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) leader Li Changchun has pledged to strengthen cooperation between Chinese and foreign media and to facilitate foreign media coverage of China. Li, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks Friday evening when he met the heads of 10 major media organizations attending the World Media Summit in Beijing.     The Chinese government has been promoting media development and supporting Chinese media in enhancing exchanges and cooperation with foreign counterparts in news, human resources, information technologies and business development, he said. HONG KONG, July 20 (Xinhua) -- A photo exhibition opened here Monday to mark the 30 anniversary of the establishment of China-U.S. diplomatic relations.     The nearly 300 photos on display range in time from as far back as the voyage to China of the American trading ship Empress of China in 1784, to the G-20 Summit in London this year.
