Over the last week, Arizona's explosion in coronavirus cases has made it the No. 1 global pandemic hot spot.According to the New York Times, Arizona topped the list of states and countries with a high rate of virus spread than any other state or country.The newspaper's research, which ranks countries and states with the most new confirmed coronavirus cases over the past week -- adjusted for population -- lists Arizona No. 1, with about 3,300 cases per 1 million in population. PASADENA, Calif. (AP) — Police in California have launched an investigation after authorities received calls of six people showing signs of drug overdoses during a six-hour period in the same city. The Pasadena Star-News reported Pasadena officials say two patients died, three recovered and one remained in a hospital receiving treatment. Authorities could not say conclusively whether the two men who died succumbed to drug overdoses until they receive a coroner’s autopsy findings. Police say they believe the cases may involve fentanyl. Pasadena police spokesman Lt. Bill Grisafe calls the suspected overdose surge an anomaly not previously seen in Pasadena. 670

Parents are considering different options when it comes to school as they manage the pressure of the COVID-19 pandemic.One option is called micro-schooling, which is basically a small school. She hopes micro-schools can help ease drop-out rates, making sure no kid falls through the cracks.She says they also allow teachers to build relationships with each student and focus on their passions.“We all thrive when we're seen and heard and valued, and that can't always happen if a teacher has 149 other kids to teach that day,” said O'Shaughnessy.She says parents in the Seattle area have turned to social media with questions about logistics or inclusion.
