The overall quality of a new, model year 2019 vehicle was no better than in 2018, despite the average vehicle price increasing from year to year.In a study released Wednesday by J.D. Power and Associates, it measured the number of problems experienced during the first 90 days of ownership. Based on this standard, the study found 13 brands improved, while 18 worsened. Overall, it found that there were 93 problems per 100 vehicles with new cars. Some models, on average, had more than one problem per vehicle. The study found that Genesis was the best performing brand in 2019 with 63 problems per 100 vehicles. Genesis was followed by Kia with 70 problems per 100 vehicles. The worst performing auto brand was Jaguar with 130 problems per 100 vehicles. “Automakers continue to make progress in areas like infotainment that attract a lot of consumer attention,” said Dave Sargent, Vice President of Global Automotive at J.D. Power. “However, some traditional problems crept up this year including paint imperfections, brake and suspension noises, engines not starting and the ‘check engine’ light coming on early in the ownership experience. Also, more people are having issues with their advanced driver assistance systems, which are critical for building consumer trust in future automated vehicles.”J.D. Power notes that Hyundai Motor Group brands Genesis, Kia and Hyundai has widened the gap in quality. Hyundai ranked third with 71 problems per vehicle. The next best brand is Ford with 83 problems per vehicle. One area of improvement is car's infotainment units, but remains as the most problematic category for new vehicles. Although the quality has not increased among new cars, the price has. Kelley Blue Book found that new car prices increased 1.3 percent from the end of 2017 to the end of 2018. TORONTO (AP) — Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is quarantining himself at home after his wife exhibited flu-like symptoms. Trudeau's office said Thursday that Sophie Grégoire Trudeau returned from a speaking engagement in Britain and had mild flu-like symptoms, including a low fever late, Wednesday night. She is being tested for the COVID-19 disease and is awaiting results. “She is self-isolating at home awaiting test results, and her symptoms have since subsided,” a statement from the PM’s office says.According to the statement, a doctor has advised the PM to continue daily activities while self-monitoring, given that he has no symptoms himself. “Out of an abundance of caution, the Prime Minister is opting to self-isolate and work from home until receiving Sophie's results," wrote Trudeau’s office. 829

Tucked away in the small town of Castle Rock, Colorado is a basement full of nostalgia. When you walk into Brett Martin’s basement, you’re actually walking into a museum of video game memorabilia. “I think people think I’m nuts, but I also think they recognize the passion,” Martin says. “I am the world record holder for the largest video game memorabilia collection.” Martin was born to be a collector of video game stuff. He shares his birthday with Super Mario. “I was born in 1981, the same year Mario was,” Martin says. His basement is covered from top to bottom, full of figurines and mementos dedicated to video game characters. “I know there’s lots of video game collectors, but there’s not a lot of video game memorabilia collectors,” Martin says. “Which makes my collection pretty unique.” According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Martin was coined the largest collector of video game memorabilia in 2013. “In 2012, I had it appraised. It was around a 0,000,” the collector says. “Now, I’d argue it’s around 0,000 because the value of some of the stuff I bought has really ramped up.” Of course, people like Martin have traveled from all over the world to visit his massive collection. “So, I have a little community of collectors that have found me over the years,” Martin says. “Most of them from other countries.” However, collecting with this kind of passion is so much more. “You have to look inside yourself and realize why you’re doing it,” Martin says. “It comes from preservation, cause there’s so few of them, especially in good conditions. So, a certain part of it is historical, and a certain part of it is nostalgic.”Martin is married with four kids, and said that he hopes his collection could help his family in the future. “Going forward, I realize you can’t take the collection with you,” Martin says. 1855
There are baseball fans and then there is Jeff Adams. The Washington Nationals fan rose to internet fame during Sunday's World Series game when he caught a home run ball to the chest while holding a beer in each hand.Social media was quick to praise the quick-thinking fan at Game 5 of the World Series."There is a beer commercial in this guy’s future....that was pretty amazing!!" one user on Twitter said.Another person on Twitter said, "Now that had to hurt! Baseball is life, but protecting your beer at all cost is priceless!"Adams was holding two Bud Light beers when he made the catch to his chest, and somehow managed not to spill a single drop. The beer company was so impressed — even calling him a "hero" on Twitter — they put out a call to find and identify him on social media. 800
The president signed a trade agreement with China on Wednesday that is expected to boost exports from U.S. farmers and manufacturers and ease trade tensions between the two countries going into November’s presidential election. President Donald Trump is describing an initial trade agreement with China as “righting the wrongs of the past and delivering a future of economic justice and security for American workers, farmers and families." Trump promoted the signing as a way of delivering economic justice for American workers. However, the "Phase 1" agreement will do little to force China to make major economic changes, such as reducing unfair subsidies for its own companies that the Trump administration sought when it started the trade war by imposing tariffs on Chinese imports in July 2018, 812
