Both feature improvements to sports fields, the Mission Bay Golf Course, green space, walking paths, playgrounds and beaches. (KGTV) — Police are asking for the public's help to locate a missing man who suffers from Alzheimer's disease.Police say 87-year-old Romy Castro disappeared from his South Escondido home off Brotherton Rd. sometime between the evening of Dec. 19 and Dec. 20. He was last seen wearing a grey shirt, tan jacket, black pants, and black moccasins. He also wears black eye glasses.Castro is described as having black and gray hair, brown eyes, stands about 5-foot 3-inches tall, and weighs 130 pounds.Anyone with information regarding Castro's wearabouts is asked to call Escondido Police at 760-839-4970. 714

UPDATE: Monday July 6th: Early Monday morning crews arrived at the harbor to retrieve the toppled Christopher Columbus statue. A dive team went into the harbor, found the statue and began pulling pieces of it out. Attempts to remove the statue from the water on Sunday failed. We're told those working to retrieve the statue are hoping to refurbish it. 360

Oct. 28, 6:55 p.m.: The southbound lanes of the 405 reopened to traffic.LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Driven by gusting winds and dry terrain, a brush fire swept through canyons and hillsides on the western side of the Sepulveda Pass Monday, destroying at least eight homes, forcing evacuations of thousands of residents and closing part of the heavily traveled San Diego (405) Freeway.
