Police say there is no ongoing threat to safety after four Wisconsin high school students were caught plotting a school shooting on Facebook Messenger.Four juvenile suspects from Eau Claire took part in the group chat, which police say indicated that "a mass shooting would occur at Memorial High School on Monday, March 26." PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — A Central Florida man is on a mission to do something nobody else has ever done: become the first person with Down Syndrome to complete a full Ironman.Chris Nikic has become an inspiration to people around the world and it started with a simple mission.Nik Nikic encouraged his son to push himself 1% more each day.“We came up with this concept of just get a little better today than yesterday,” Nik explained.Now, 21-year-old Chris is about to do something incredible. On November 7, he’ll swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles and run a full 26.2 mile marathon in Panama City Beach.“I want to inspire others so that they can be like me and so that one day they can do it too,” Chris said with a smile.If he completes the race within 17 hours, Chris will be the first person with Down Syndrome to ever finish an Ironman.He also has a message for the other competitors: “You better watch out, because I’m going to beat you!”“Really, you’re going to beat all of them?” his dad asked.“Yeah!” Chris answered enthusiastically.Chris has spent several months swimming off the coast of Pinellas County as he trains with coach Dan Grieb for the big race and gets used to the choppy Gulf of Mexico waters.“I’ve learned that you can teach anybody anything if you’re willing to love them through their disability or love them through their struggle,” Grieb added.Chris has been documenting his journey on social media. Pala Mesa, CA (KGTV) -- We are learning more about the bus company involved in Saturday's fatal crash along Interstate 15. An Executive Lines charter bus flipped over, killing three and sending nearly 20 people, including a 5-year-old boy, to the hospital. Federal records show Executive Lines has been cited for several maintenance issues in the last two years. 10News looked into Executive Lines, a company out of El Monte in Los Angeles County. They specialize in charters from Los Angeles to San Ysidro, with many of their passengers heading to Tijuana International Airport. Saturday's charter bus, carrying 21 passengers plus the driver, was headed toward San Ysidro before it crashed on I-15 near Pala Mesa. "The vehicle lost control, veered to the right, obviously traversed this shoulder, and eventually overturned," Officer Mark Latulippe of the Oceanside California Highway Patrol [CHP] said. Witnesses said several passengers were ejected from the bus. CHP confirmed that likely none of them were wearing their required seatbelts. Three of them were pronounced dead on the scene, and nearly 20 were transported to various hospitals. According to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration [FMCSA], in the last two years, none of the Executive Lines buses were involved in crashes. But out of 19 vehicle inspections for their seven-vehicle fleet, 13 of the checks came back with a total of 26 vehicle maintenance violations. That puts them in the 48th percentile, meaning nearly half of all bus companies have better on-road performance than Executive Lines. 10News also looked into the inspection history of the exact Charter bus that crashed Saturday. PALA MESA, Calif. (KGTV) -- A Temecula woman who stopped to help victims of a deadly bus crash in Pala Mesa on the I-15 freeway is hoping to connect with the family of the woman she comforted until she passed. Jacqueline Hernandez says she never thought twice about stopping to help the victims of the bus crash. She says it was pouring rain, but when she noticed what happened, she pulled over to ask how she could help. Hernandez says she joined other Good Samaritans that had pulled over to help. She says, she arrived just moments after the crash. The charter bus traveling from El Monte to Tijuana on the southbound 15 when it crashed. Three women were killed, 18 people were sent to local hospitals. Hernandez tells 10News she noticed a woman ejected from the bus and says two men started alternating CPR. She says she tried to keep the woman alert, speaking to her in Spanish and holding her face. Eventually paramedics told Hernandez the woman no longer had a pulse. While Hernandez tried to help the woman, her two children passed out blankets to the other victims that were injured.Hernandez wants the woman's family to know their loved one was not alone in her final moments. The California Highway Patrol is now helping Hernandez arrange a meeting with the woman's family. Hernandez is hoping to help them financially with funeral costs. The three victims were identified as ,23-year-old Cinthya Karely Rodriguez Banda, Maria De La Luz Diaz, 67 of Riverside, and Julia Perez Cornejo, 73. 1508
