(KGTV) There is growing outrage that a man accused of trying to rip a toddler out of his parent's car is out of jail on bail.Peter Kopcak and his fiance Jennifer Lawson were backing out of the Costco parking lot on Hacienda Drive in Vista Saturday afternoon."I just seen out of the corner of my eye this guy running down between the two cars, and I didn't know what he was doing," said Kopcak.The couple said the guy tried to rip their toddler out of his car seat."He opened the car seat back door, reached in and grabbed my kid, she jumped out of the car, left it in reverse, I put it in park. I jumped out, he was trying to grab the car seat and, she pushed him and I just had to take him down," said Kopcak.Kopcak tackled the man to the ground."I took him to the ground and did what I had to do to subdue, a bunch of people, an off duty officer pulled me off the guy and held him down told him to put his hands behind his back," said Kopcak.Sheriff's deputies arrested 37-year-old Adam Glavinic. He's facing charges of felony attempted kidnapping and being under the influence of a controlled substance."I thought he was going to take my kid and I wasn't about to let that happen, I'd do anything I could to stop him cause that's the worst nightmare, just having someone A, touch your kid, B, try to take your kid," said Kopcak.The couple was also upset to learn Glavinic was released from jail on a 0,000 bail Sunday."I couldn't stop crying when I found out, cause he will do this to someone else and who knows if it's a single mom or the husband isn't quick enough, and the guy takes off," said Lawson."I don't understand how he got out so fast. What if he tries to grab another kid or hurt someone else? It boggles my mind," said Kopcak.There's a backlog of out of custody cases due to the pandemic. Glavinic isn't scheduled for arraignment until February. The district attorney's office can't comment specifically on this case, but Chief Deputy District Attorney Rachel Solov says give the system a chance. "Let the investigation be done, let law enforcement get all the information and submit it to the district attorney's office to be evaluated," said Solov.A spokeswoman with the DA's office says they're getting a lot of calls and emails from parents concerned about this case. The case is also generating outrage on social media with a lot of people commenting that bail should be much higher."There are legal mechanisms if the facts and circumstances of a case warrant it to be able to do that, to be able to request a judge to sign an arrest warrant that would increase bail," said Solov.Solov said changes to the bail schedule due to the pandemic would not have affected this case."Those modifications did not at all affect any of those serious or violent offenses such as kidnapping," said Solov.The D.A's office says a prosecutor has been assigned to the case. VIENNA — Austrian authorities say at least one gunman, shooting apparently at random in a popular Vienna nightlife area hours before a coronavirus lockdown took effect, killed four people in an Islamic extremist attack. They said Tuesday that the suspect, who was shot and killed by police, was a young Austrian-North Macedonian dual citizen who had a previous terror conviction for attempting to join the Islamic State extremist group in Syria.Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said two men and two women died from their injuries in the attack Monday evening. VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - Prosecutors presented evidence Thursday against a man suspected of killing his girlfriend in Cardiff in an effort to send the case to trial. Late in the day, a judge decided there was enough evidence for the case to move forward.Henry Cowen is charged with murder in the death of 43-year-old Sabrina Lukosky. During his preliminary hearing in Vista court, attorneys heard from multiple witnesses, including a DNA expert who tied Cowen to the crime scene. Lukosky’s mother requested a welfare check in October 2019 after not hearing from her daughter for several days. RELATED: North County man accused of killing girlfriend tried to escape the country, prosecutors sayOfficers found Lukosky’s car in front of the granny flat she shared with Cowen and reported a foul smell coming from the home. A search warrant was executed a few days later, and led to the discovery of Lukosky’s body. Police said there were signs of a violent struggle in the couple’s bedroom. "There was a broken stick, a bottle that had been broken, some amount of blood, and the victim had a 1.5-inch vertical gash to her forehead," said Deputy District Attorney Marnie Layon. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s office later determined Lukosky died of blunt force trauma and strangulation. Prosecutors believe Cowen left San Diego County and traveled to Los Angeles, then took a Lyft to Riverside County. They also said Cowen tried to leave the country with the help of his children’s mother. (KGTV) - Kellen Winslow Jr. affirmed his innocence to 10News Thursday as he appeared in court to face a third charge of rape.The son of a Chargers legend, Winslow pleaded not guilty to the alleged rape a 17-year old girl in 2003.  10News was able to capture a few words with Winslow as he walked to his car in the parking lot outside court. When reporter Jim Patton asked about the new rape charge, Winslow responded it would all come out in court. Then asked if he was innocent of the other allegations of raping two women in Encinitas, Winslow said, "I'm advised by my lawyer to not speak on much. But yes, I am innocent." The new charge involves a woman who was 17 years old at the time. Winslow was 19. She claims he raped her while she was unconscious. Winslow Jr.'s attorney has previously said their relationship was consensual.  Thursday, the defense repeated a request for the woman's psychological history.Thursday's court hearing lasted no more than 15 minutes as attorneys debated whether this new case should be tried along with the other two rape allegations. Winslow Jr.'s attorneys argued the new charge could prejudice the other two.The judge allowed the cases to remain joined for now for efficiency but said the trial judge would make the ultimate decision.  Winslow is currently free on a million bond, while required to wear a GPS monitoring bracelet. His trial date was set for March 19th, 2019. 1507
